Hi Prateek, I have a Indica vista Safire 65, about 18 months old. Because of the high pertrol costs, the car is becoming more and more unfeasible and hence I am moving to a diesel car. I get a mileage of ~10 kmpl in mumbai. Have you owned a petrol car before and if yes, whats the expectation manage...ment I have to do while driving a diesel car. I know the diesel engines are sluggish and need more revving, may have some jerks whne driving in bumper to bumper traffic. Do you face any of these issues? Best kedar kedar_apte@yahoo.comRead More

I have a mixed bag feedback.. I have been using Vista Safire 65 for last 15 months and I am not too happy. I have been a strong Tata loyalist - 2 indica's in the past...but with Vista, I feel a little bit cheated....too many nagging issues and the servcie center guys are there only to fleece you.......For every little thing there is something or the other that needs to be paid for. I have done about 20k kms so far in my petrol car....but it's like no great shakes...I would not recommend a Vista Safire to any one....Read More

The tyres have nothing to do with the Tata brand. Honestly, the issue is with Apollo tyres. My Hyundai getz with Apollo tyres is a pain as well. The tyres are useless. Go for MRF or Michellin. They are the best of the lot.

Why dont you check the hyundai website to know the ex-showroom prices yourself in Pune? The insurance and RTO charges amount to INR 45K. The ex-showroom price is 3.73 lacs in pune. That comes to 4.18 lacs. Add a music system to it. Thats the summation of 4.23 lacs

Thanks for your compliment. No, it does not vibrate at 90 kmph. But if one crosses 110 kmph and a heavy bus (the volvos or merc buses) or a big SUV (like a Honda CRV or Mahindra Scorpio or a Tata Safari) passes you, the car sways a little bit. It seems quite unsafe. I would be very uncomfortable at ...110 in a i10 for sure. Not a car in which you could speed. Ideal speeds for the i10 are 80 - 100 kmphRead More

The important aspect for a Maruti engine and a Fiat engine is the material the cars use. Maruti uses Aluminium engines which dissipate heat a lot faster than any other engine. If one has driven any maruti car one will seldom face issues because of heat problems, while others do not use Aluminium eng...ines. On the contrary Tatas use cast iron which makes the engine heavy and 'STURDIER' so to say. But the heat quotient is higher than Maruti cars. Read More

Hi Vikas, Thanks for reading my review and taking effort in commenting on the same. Really appreciate. Dont be offended by my comments about Palio unable to do 15 kmph in 3rd gear. Well I totally agree that the car should not be driven at that speed in a higher gear. By making that comment, I ...was enforcing the fact that the powerband for the Palio is very low and a Xeta can do a 15kmph to 75 kmph in 3rd gear, which just explains that the car will have less gear changes and will be better to drive in the city. That is what I am trying to put forth. In a stop and go traffic, one many times have to brake inadvertantly in the 3rd gear and then also get going the next second, in which case, having a stronger power band will be less of a strain on the driver as he will not need to change the gear everytime. Not that I drive at 15 kmph in 3rd gear, but I am just use to less gear changes, so suddenly when I have to play around with the gears so often, it stands out immediately.Read More

Nope...didnt get offended....may be because I replied immediately made you feel i was worked up. Anyways, I also looked at the music systems which the showrooms had to offer. While u are right on the brands, I feel that GLX being a top end model, they should provide all the gizmos as well.......I...t would even be great to provide parking sensors as a standard fitment which they offer as an accessory. They provide central locking as a default fixture anways.... What puts me off some times about the car is the weight and manouverability. I also own a Wagon R. I find it so quick and manouverable especially in the city that I prefer using that sometimes in city. I fitted a Blaupkunt with a CD changer. Blaupkunt is OEM fitment for the car...so no wiring nothing...It was just simple slide in for the system and plugging the speakers. It was a 15 minute job for the system fitting. In my previous Indica, I had put in a Kenwood which is not an OEM and I was warned by the tata showroom guys that it being not an OEM, may breach the warranty of 18 months. I knoew it was just a scare but this time I decided not to give even a smallest chance to cover themselves. I still prefer the Kenwood for the base chords as it has a superb low range sound response as compared to a Blaupuknt. Blaupunkt has a superb mid and hig frequency response, but is irritating some times. Whats the performance of your car?Read More

Please read the review and the comments in the context. I think its quite clear that when I say the music GLX , fully loaded except the music system - I am commenting on the missing accessort which is expected for top end model... Regarding the sound levels - I fitted the music system after I b...ought the car and increased volume of the music system only explains that the engine noise in cabin is high...... I think you should try and disassociate the the comments as the context is different.Read More

Although it was your hard desire to bring out your sentiments about Shobha, my personal opinion is that the language you have used or the review style is no different than what Shobha uses. More often than not, out of 10 things a person does, he / she becomes famous for 20% of work and 80% work i...s sold because of the extra ordinary 20% work. Its quite common all over the world. Look at the writters who pen down biographies for people. An attempt to write about Lee Iacocca of Ford was fantastic. But a second attempt to write about him as an extension failed miserably. I am sure few know that there came a book about Lee Iaccoca after his bio graphy, known as Lee - Talking Straight. Well the language shobha uses, not many appreciate the flambouyancy. The way I look at her style of writing is she speaks what you get to hear in the public. I am sure whe we speak among ourselves one gets to hear hear all four lettered and five lettered words and the gossip as to who is sleeping with whom and who is dating whom. Its a part of our soceity. Shobha, as a writer I think she uses the same language that one hears or in some cases use in private lifes. But well, I havent read the book so cant comment on the content. Anywys, congratulations for the iPod.Read More

I too received several calls from ICICI bank, HDFC Bank, Citibank, BPL, tata AIG and that too at odd hours and is especially irritating when I am on international roaming as several times I dont get a CLI,so dont know who is calling. Initially, when some one called I use to say sorry, not interet...sed and requested them to remove my name form the database. ICICI and HSBC really worked. But HDFC and Tata Aig guys just understand. So then I started questioning their authenticity. When they called I started asking them...how do I know you are calling form HDFC or Tata AIG. I dont trust you. I am sorry. Trust me Tata AIG guys understood that. HDFC guys still dont. I am gonna look out for somemore things now. I dont know how, but I will jam the buggers. But your review was goodRead More
