U indeed think from the right perspective. What India and indians need is just not some percentage of reservations to uplift the plight of socially and finanialy backward classes, but proper legislations. merit should be recognised and not the fact that someone is backward. i have no obj...ection in reserving educational seats till senior secondary level, if possible, make the education, coaching, mentoring and training free for the underprivileged people, not on the basis of the caste from which they come, but based on financial necessity. the financially weaker sections should be helped to be at par as far as educational and facilities are concerned but nowhere beyond that. after the senior secondary it should be left to their merits attained through the education system. let them earn the position, not beg it.
all these 56 years we have given reservations in professional colleges and government jobs, is half a century not enough? the plight of those people remained same because reservation of jobs was given priority over giving free and right education.
believe me education alone can make these people help themselves.
