Oh, how I wish India can regain it's status of the golden bird in the international map.

Its a sad story altogether that though India has a vast cultural diversity, which roots back to the era where the whole world look up to India for directions, India, the home to majority of world's religion, most properly said to be the God's own country, it's a matter of great pride and honour that India was the home to the birth of religions as Jainism, buddhism, Sikhism, Sufism, and of course the eternal way of life names as hinduism.

But how theworld have been seeing India with preconcieved notions, with bias, with one eye closed. and our dear ministry of tourism, I must say lacks the vision to direct the future of indian tourism. whatever amount of share of the world's tourist come to india, can be attributed to the word to mouth publicity by the people of indian origin, and the tourists themselves.

The entire efforts of Indian tourism department, is directionless and futile. I must say only less than 1% of the total tourists come to india due to efforts by the tourism dept.

We have all the opportunities in the world to market ourselves, by persuasion, hardselling and strategic planning, but why should the dept care, it runs its work really ram bhrose. if it can get the tourists to come to india, without even proper efforts on its part, why should it bother.

I suggest a proactive approach should be taken in this regard. we should strongly promote the indian tourism, not just by futile and expensive foreign visits by our netas and officers, but through a concerted efforts directed to turn india into the most preferred tourist destination, of course for the right reasons only . we should have a project devoted to counter the bad publicity against india. we should hire professional PRO for hardselling our tourist interests.

There are many ideas like this in my fertile brain, but due to restraint of time and space I will not like to incorporate them here, but if given a proper platform , I will surely help to regain our lost glory.
