Hi, My experience was virtually the same, except for the manner in which I settled it. At that time mine was the only complaint of this nature and other readers could not believe what I was saying. Now I find several complaints of this nature and just a few days ago my Boss has undergone the same... experience after disconnection of an Airtel Broadband connection. Hey Airtel, there's enough profit to be made honestly, why are you resorting to these goonda tactics??!!! My review is at the following link : http://www.mouthshut.com/review/Airtel_Broadband-109555-1.htmlRead More

Well, to each his own. IMHO, Geet's character was played to perfection by Kareena . Let me state here that I have never been a great fan of hers or Shahid's for that matter, but in this movie they set the screen ablaze. Geet is portrayed as an effervescent, slightly over the top girl, and Kareena do...es it beautifully, walking the fine line between depicting a flamboyant character and hamming/overacting with ease. Shahid's depiction of Aditya - wow man, I had written him off as a pink lipsticked, floppy haired teeny-bopper, but he made me go weak at the knees in this. As regards your queries about why Aditya encourages Geet to forgive Anshuman, it is amply explained in the film. Aditya has seen Geet's joy on the way to meet Anshuman at Manali and her despair when he tells her that Anshuman doesn't care for her anymore and that chapter is closed. He believes she truly loves Anshuman still. If Anshuman has seen sense and still loves Geet, the nine months of a rough patch will be forgotten and forgiven in a lifetime of loving. ( Let me say here that I would never forgive a guy who left me to fend for myself in a strange town overnight even, never mind nine months). Aditya loves Geet and has admitted as much to her but believes that she doesn't love him. In that situation, he realises that they cannot be happy together and doesn't make a push to secure her for himself. He tells Geet that if two people love each other, they should be together, because only then would everyone be happy, citing his parents' unhappy marriage as an example of how terrible things can be between partners who are simply bound together by wedlock but not love. I believe that this is one of the best romances ever made in Hindi cinema. Maybe guys simply don't enjoy romances as much??!!Read More

I am always a sucker for romances, but the usual Bollywood romance that one gets is never as finely crafted as this one. Though I have thoroughly enjoyed( and repeatedly watched) DDLJ, KKHH, QSQT, etc, this one is a class apart. A brief plot summary: Aditya Kashyap( Shahid Kapoor) is at th...Read more

Vivek, when I read all the good reviews on Airtel, I realised that its only people like you and me who have walked away from an Airtel connection who have these issues. They are into a deliberate extortion racket, it seems, and a class action suit may be just the thing for them. The people who were ...harassing me finally 'negotiated' and settled for a payment of Rs. 3000 +. I asked for a letter from them saying that my account with them is closed, but they have still not sent that. They are truli cheats.Read More

I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment of the food and it has become one of our favourite Sunday brunch places. My only advice to the management would be to brush up their act as regards service and cleanliness. I got a dirty glass last week and service is always much slower than at Sagar. Wher...e the restaurant really scores is its food and comfortable, open seating space, unlike Sagar which is cramped and rushed.Read More

At the begining, let me say that this may be a somewhat ill-informed review. I am not a great watcher of these serials and manage to see about 1-2 episodes in a week of totally different serials. I really liked the first half of the movie and loved Amitabh and KIrron Kher's roles. I also thought that Karan Johar had shown a reasonable and remarkable degree of sensitivity in handling a difficult to portray subject in the Indian context. I disagree with your review on the following points : a.... Extra-marital relationships are not limited to Indians living in the West. That is blinding yourself to the fact that there are quite as many extra marital and pre-marital relationships in Indian society. And this is not happening only in Urban affluent society but across all strata. Read the news - 'Wife and lover arrested for husband's murder' ; 'Husband kills wife in jealous rage' and recently - ' Husband shoots wife after watching KANK cause she refused to give him a divorce in order to marry his girlfriend'. b. While extra-marital relationships happen, I feel that they hurt too many people for them to be justified. There are the children of both the couples, who are most seriously affected, as well as the spouses. Also, a marriage is a contract in which you are to live with and respect your spouse and respect the limits imposed by this contract, just like any other contract ( with your employer, business partner, etc.) If you are in an unhappy marriage, sure, go ahead and divorce. But don't look for emotional anchoring first in another relationship and then have the courage to break away. These are my points of disagreement with you. I also felt that Shahrukh and Rani were shown to have given up completely on their marriages, with no effort being made to meet Preity/Abhishek even half-way. Shahrukh's character is downright unpleasant - it is not Preity's fault but his own carelessness which lands him in that accident that ends his career. And Rani is an Obsessive-Compulsive. At the end of the movie, I and a lot of other people were left with the feeling that the Rani-Shahrukh marriage is unlikely to work.Read More

I'm 41 yrs old and find plenty of lovely stuff to read in so called ' children's books'. At my favourite bookstore they rush to show me the latest arrivals in the kids'/teenagers' section first and then other books. Specially in the last few years, after the rash of fantasy writers, there is so much... to read! I'll put in a detailed review on what I enjoy, but tell me....haven't any of you ever picked up 'children's' books and re-read/read them?Read More
