Boss you have lot of guts to atleast complete the movie, I saw it for half an hour and was OUT...wat else can u expect from prabhu deva. One really can't blame him since the Indian movie these days has been reduced to ''541'' formula...5 fights, 4 songs and 1or2 item songs... tats it.. Thank god ...we atleast got out of the mindless comedy phase which died its natural death...Now it is the phase of mindless action...Read More

my dear friend why don't u take your own advice and see one. What was that figure you said 1200 crores. I had a hearty laugh on that one. Did you not even wince once before coming up with that figure coz no sane person wud come up with that number other than a hardcore rajni fan or a mentally challe...nged one. Since you say u r NOT a rajni fan you by default fall in the other category. You could have added a few more zeroes to that number and his movie could have cleared india's budget deficit to some extent and eased Pranab da's worries...ha ha ha I criticize all movies hindi english or watever. i am not stuck to regional/national/international mode. Instead of blindly criticizing if you wud have taken care to read them you wud have already found it. Get over Rajni moveon mate...Read More

Thanks for your comments rvn1999, but there was no tamil novel involved her. The movie is not only copied directly from the 1987 Hollywood movie but the even most of the scenes are directly copied form the original movie. The end is twisted though and made a good guy vs bad guy competition. If you s...ee the original movie 1987 Making Mr. Right then it will solve all your doubts. It is pure hogwash by producers to say that it was written by sujatha or maybe the novel itself was copied from the movie in that case. It is pure hogwash by producers to deflect criticism. Do one thing try googling abt this, now that u seem to be educated. Also try seeing the movie and then decide. Infact most of the scenes are directly copied frame by frame from ''making mr right'' and this has been said by many tamil guys themselves. Robot movie did not even earn 300 crores, since it was rajnis wish that he wud throw a grand party had it earned abt 300 crores. The estimates are around 200 crores. and the other important point is that Tamil cinema does not keep any box office counts. Most of them are so exaggerated that the tamil film assocation themselves accept it that most of the figures are inflated 5/6 times and in some cases 10 times the cash amount just so that they can project the XYZ actor as God. So typical you know. I know you may be a hard core rajni fan, but alas if you can argue based on facts then you can see the truth... Last but not the least iam not against rajni as such but against the unnecessary hype abt him. A guy who can hardly act( or lets say overacts) is praised by so many for god knows what reasons. I find it very amusing to argue with rajni fans like you who blindly follow him and wud gladly jump down the valley...some pied piper he is...ha haRead More

''Screenplay: Veeeerrrrry Sloooooowwww.'' Do you know what is screenplay ? ha ha please explain me i would like to know it from you. If you call this movie as slow paced i don't know what is fast pace. 2 things either someone paid you to write an anti-SRK review OR you are a die-hard salman khan ...fan who likes his mind less dumb action oriented comedy movies, which in reality is 3rd degree torture.Read More

Good review and a very valid point, which was going through my mind for quite some time. Everybody has preconceived notions about everything as you have mentioned. I have increasingly seen ppl hate SRK movies bcoz they ought to hate them. I am neither a fan of SRK neither do I hate him. I am neutr...al as far as he is concerned and each of his movies I try to appreciate solely on merit. In fact a lot of that hatred effect happened with Ra-one movie and it is a shame that the india's first sci-fi movie with original story (ROBOT was a copy) was not appreciated by ppl. I am sure if Ra-one was done by Salman or some other actor it would have been a blockbuster. I think Don 2 will also have that same hatred effect as a carry-over from Ra-One and it may just have an average box office collection inspite of having good reviews.Read More

Thanks for your wishes paul, but I certainly don’t need them since it is neither my career nor do i intend to pursue a career in it. It is rather just a hobby. ’’we are judging the effect and not the process’’ as you have mentioned, that’s what i precisely meant to say. In this case the movie woul...d be the effect and the process would be the direction, cinematography, direction etc etc... Acting is the most visible aspect of cinema which ppl generally tend to have a opinion about since it is the most visible facade of a cinema whilst cinematography, editing etc are more subtler and difficult to judge. Only an expert eye can judge it, casually remarks could be totally off the charts... To further explain the analogy of cake that you mentioned one can certainly tell whether a cake is good or bad but to say that the cake is good because of such and such ingredients, mixed in such and such formula would be a little deeper which only a cook can tell. Your review is precisely trying to tell that formula, which could be way off. You could be calling an apple tart as strawberry pie who knows ?Read More

The review goes like this ''Cinematography is excellent.'' . I don't understand this comment, and I am sure none of the MS reviewers understand it, very few ppl if they are media students may understand it if they have been exposed to video editing courses. I have done a course and still i don't und...erstand it completely. Who can tell me how to shoot a better camera angles, who can tell me the exposure settings or relationship between focal length and camera-subject distance ? Cinematography, along with editing is a very complex topic, please don't comment on it if you don't understand it. Cinematography is not just about showing Kashmir and Prague locales, with hero and heroine dancing.... Can Mr. Paul please tell me from the technical perspective why he found it excellent and what scenes from the technical angle were better and the alternatives for the bad shots if any(all movies have bad shots) ? I would be grateful. I am sure Mr. Paul does not have a clue either yet he has written that ''cinematography is excellent''...Read More

Exactly, calling someone a SRK fan just because you don’t have the capability to understand is bad, isn’t it ? Just because I tell you that ROBOT is a copied movie I become a SRK fan what logic is that ? Try using you grey cells for a change, it won’t harm you and try arguing on logic if you can..., rather that blindly blaming someone...Read More

@prsadr Fanatic Rajni Fan alert... ha ha ha.. just showing you the mirror. @amit2992 what is novelty for you need not apply to the general public who may be more knowledgeable than you ! It was a well known fact even in chennai and among rajni fans that ROBOT was copied. Ra-one’s scenes were ...inspired but the story was original, but your favorite movie ROBOT’s story, direction, screenplay and cast everything was copied. Only the climax scene drill as you mentioned it and other regular tamil masala was original, which anyone with even a peanut sized brain could come up with after copying everything else. I saw the movie "Making Mr Right" in india only for your information. Anyway whatever your argument is the fact that ROBOT was copied "frame by frame" does not change. I hope you know what "frame by frame" copying means otherwise you would not have bothered arguing. I or any smart person would logically give more points to a movie with the original story and concept with some inspired scenes rather than praise a movie with copied story, screenplay and direction. Hardly needs any intelligence for copying and translating it from english to tamil does it ? Saying that I am a SRK fan cannot change this fact, next time try and get your facts right before bashing a movie blindly.Read More

How i wish this movie was original. Too bad it is a frame by frame copy of a hollywood movie. Robot, the movie that you have mentioned was copied almost ’’frame by frame’’ from the Hollywood movie ’’Making Mr. Right(1987)’’. Google this movie and see it for yourself. I found ROBOT extremely borin...g and since humanoid robots turning bad have been repeated for decades in hollywood sci-fi movies like terminator etc. They did not even give credit to original hollywood movie which is bad enough. Only the effects the animatronics part was original.Read More
