There are a few things that make me feel on the top of the world - and being one of the Elite 5 list of someone is one of that!! Surely ... You must ask why I didn't give a VU rating then. It's nothing to do with your writing - which was very well-explained and elaborate. It's just a kind of protes...t against keeping such topics as '5 best writers' or '5 worst writers' at MS - they come to nobody's use EVER and are the best tools to create controversy for those who want it (I don't mean YOU are wanting it, but those who do ...) Keep writing, and best wishes, - Mandy PS : er... don't you read reviews written by the creatures called 'guys'?Read More

I've always been a huge Tom Cruise fan but somehow negative reviews always scare me off from running to the theatre for his movies - I'd rather cling to my (precious) 100 bucks and wait for it to come on TV! But you inspired me to think this one might well be worth a watch (I didn't dare Minority R...eport & Last Samurai). Well, let's see... Smiles - MandyRead More

That was one of the best short-and-compact reviews I've seen here, very well-communicated. I love your style of writing! (means, don't kill me if I imitate it, lol) I've never been to Khajuraho, but someday when I'm bigger (ie. when I won't have to look forward to mom's & dad's time to take m...e on vacations) I will. I don't have the apprehensions you've talked of, so I think I'll really be able to appreciate the art there. Anyway, let's change the topic cuz I wanted to say 'Welcome!' Hope you enjoy your stay at MS, & you can also contact me if you need help! All the best - MandyRead More

... will our Bollywood off-screen couples understand that to make people understand their real love they have to make good movies with strong performances, and not just candyfloss romances running around trees??? You say it's a timepass but people even get bored of such timepass over and over agai...n, don't they? It's like munching the same old stale popcorn every Friday over. Who'd want to spend 100 bucks to be stuck in a hall with 'pretty faces, pretty dresses & pretty places'? Anyway, that hasn't gotta do anything with your review which was great and honest, as usual. So you didn't have to keep the suspence up. Besides the screenplay isn't original either. Didn't you know it's a true story, that this mathemetician called John Nash actually existed and he's one of the most famous cases of schizophrenia? Ah well, I didn't see the movie (but it won Oscars & lots... of critical acclaim, which fool gave it thumb down?) and didn't read any book either, but everyone knows that! [I'd love to say something in protest to Lyla's comment too. Don't be foolish enough to disrespect another person's genius as long as you're not good enough to reach that level. If we consider what 'nuts' means, many of us are more nuts than he was] Best wishes, - MandyRead More

I agree with u at the points u made. I have a Motorola c350e which I bought for the same reason (ie. being diffrent frm the Nokia crowd) but was again disappointed on the same grounds (xcept the camera which my one doesn't have)! Your review should be credited on being very to-the-point but in the ...process you've made it VERY VERY SHORT (my comment I think is longer than the review itslef, lol). If you write longer stuff next, I'll love to read them All the best, - MandyRead More

Sainath : So our choices match. Luved ya for that! Sahil : Thanx for making me feel like great-great-grandmama!!! Anyways... Chintan : Welcome! (to read all my future reviews that is ... lol). You might think the album's worth more if you love soppy meaningless love songs for it contains overd...oses of that type, but then God forbid ... Nidhi : Never mind buying this one. You got the better album (ie. Dhoom) ... er, can we swap? Love to all, - MandyRead More

Thanx everybody from the bottom of my heart for the b'day wishes ... there are many old friends who haven't yet dropped in but then many old friends (and new ones too) who actually have - so it's party time!! ;-) Let me offer an explanation for my topic of 'commercialization', for I don't think I...'ve got the point across quite properly (many ppl seem to have misunderstood me). Balagi, Lyla & Amol: I never claimed MS was a non-profit organization, but it was a review-writing site not a shopping site. There are many writing sites on the net & none of them are non-profit ones, for its the traffic (ie. the no. of times the site is accessed) itself that brings in profit. (So you see, at no point of time was MS rendering any 'selfless social service' types) Why couldn't MS stay just like that? As Lyla said, 'MS is a commercial based site, for companies, (etc), to SEE how their products are doing, in various areas of the World' - but it wasn't a place for direct selling. Now the MS people won't be too glad about strongly negative reviews about the products they're selling, for that'll be meaning loss for them. Such reviews, however well-written, won't be placed as Hot Reviews or such writers acknowledged as good ones. You see the curbing of the freedom of expression? Amol had a valid point, but in that case it makes me feel like professional reviewers being paid for reviewing stuff to help buyers to buy. We don't write here for any benefit, right? No money, no recognition ... only for the love of it. That pure feeling gets hampered by MS trying to sell stuff through it. However, in the end it's undeniable that what Jai said is totally right, MS might be worse than before but it's still better than the rest ... - MandyRead More

Really, how many times have we ever stopped to think the the Jews might well be the most discriminated-against religious group in the history of mankind? I don't get time to read books these days (pathetic me!) so I make up instead by reading delightful reviews and sighing - like your one just ma...de me do. Also, thanx for being the first one to welcome me back to MS (Actually meant to say 'Congrats' for you lead a crowd, he he) All the best ... - MandyRead More

Tu wapas aa gayi, how can I be further? Nice 2 see ya back (say the same to me, he he) I've seen only the promos of this movie & liked the song Dhoom Machale. Soppy romantic songs don't go down well with me except when they're too good to be ignored (like Hum Tum) so Shikdum ... well ... was ...ok, but nothing better. Besides Abhishek is always the biggest turn-off for me, in any avatar possible! Wait till you see the Tata Young number on TV! Instead I got the Rakht album (which isn't very great either). Do check out my review on it Love, - MandyRead More

... but Hi! for this is the 1st time I'm reading your review. The rest is said by all my predecessors ... in short, I loved it! You seem to have a very unique style of writing, missing in many of the newcomers, but then as juggernaut said, that's why ... I just wanted to mention a few points : ... 1. 'Since the movie is based on such a rich story, with so much intricacy and plot already available, the screenplay must have been easy' - actually that's what makes the screenplay tougher, to make all that grandeur into one movie, and what the screenwriter of Troy failed to do miserably (for the 10 yrs war seem to have ended in 3 days, trust me I've read the book!) 2. And when you mentioned the eye-candies of Troy, how dare you forget to mention Orlando Bloom? He's the one I went to see the movie for (although kept drooling more over Brad Pitt, he he) 3. I agree with you about the stupid-looking Helen of Troy. The Australian girl you talked of (that's Rose Byrne) was far better (her character was called Briseis in the book, though) Hoping to see more of you soon... - MandyRead More

Hi Sahil! Ur review was long but brilliant too - both in content and style of writing. Very much professional, I liked that. And just for your notice, don't mind when Cousin2's comments go a little bit off-track, she's actually a very amiable old lady always ready to lend you a helping hand! ...- Mandy PS I'd like your future reviews to be a bit personal, like personal likes, dislikes and opinions - that makes it all the more enjoyable for out here we're all real ppl who know each other! & if u find time, check out my reviews tooRead More

I haven't been in the site for a time so this is the 1st time I'm readign you - and boy, you're sharp! Why did u bother to watch that serial in the 1st place? Was it some undeniable compulsion like nagging wife, mom, auntie, sister .... etc etc? But no doubt you made a good observation of it, it'...s enough for me that these serials bore me to death ... I've never watched so intently to notice black or beige couches ever! Lol Enjoy your stay here Mandy ^!^Read More

Hi everyone, again! I had been away from MS for months, can't decide if it's more out of dissatisfaction about the commercialization of my (former) favorite site or the lack of time and topic to write. Swati & Lava : Can't express my joy to see both of you here! Welcome to the league (never knew there'd be so many people!) Titan : I thought people were supposed to write 'comments' to a review here. You wrote a whole review itself!!! Thanks a ton for taking out the time and effort to write t...his extremely well-explained view, I feel honored. I respect your point of view, but nothing changes my own. (Well it's not like I've never thought that I was probably watching the worst episodes, because I was more disappointed than I expected to be - but I'd have been disappointed by it anyway!) Hi Arpit! Due to my long absence from MS I've lost track of all new members and had to resort to the Best Debut page - where I found you. And I LOVE you for sitting through this movie and writing the review - no one else has seemed to bother about my utter curiousity how this flick would turn ...out to be. I really liked Sammir (so cute!) and Pooja (so cute again! so different from the 'headless bimbo'-looking lot of present starlets!) in the promos but was too scared to risk my cash and time by a movie from some people who could make MPKDH. So really thanks for the insight, I think I would stick to the song promos (those are rather nice, aren't they?) *~* Mandy *~*Read More
