read both your blogs on the siemens washing machine. very interesting reading. which one did you finally pick up ? am planning to buy one and the service criteria you mention is my only deciding factor.

yeh saali zindagi has amazing performances ! wonder why the script needed so many supers in english to explain where it was going ? so many sub plots for one film ? brillantly set in delhi and haryana, it needlessly transports all its characters to climax in mumbai :)

should have hired a writer, stuck to the story (?) and steered clear of a clash of with an established character like 'raavan'.

took me a while to decipher wtf.i did, by the time i finished reading about this saga which is sure to upset quite a few - besides you and sri lanka :-).wonder why big budgets mean just better technique ? epics should be left alone if this kind of treatment is the fate of characters established th...rough generations.i have an invitation to watch this ppt tonight. knowing wtf is in store, will focus on the locales portrayed.Read More

Great review. Most of us are still skeptical about Punto spares and Tata service. Also await the Volkswagon Polo which is positioned to be mass with 1 lakh cars rolling out each month. That would assumably ensure service / spares at a reasonable cost. Tata has come up with ABS and Airbags in Vista... today, but the product lacks finnesse and refinement. If the 4 year service pack works well with Punto, it may be the car to go for among all these diesel hatchbacks.Read More

well written review. am planning to graduate from my indica to another diesel, your suggestions, Swift VDi, logan, swift desire or vista? Am not too rich this recession..so my honda uprade will need to wait a while.Diesel sure is prefereable.

hi, obviously vista is miles ahead of V2, or is it? It surely is a decade later in time and that might mean some learning for Tata. But the plastics , roubbers are as bad. Guess technology and time has nothing to do with that, attitude has. It is not fair to praise the car just because you b...ought it or have got used to it. Like a convict also getting used to his cell over time. The engine is good, borrowed, space is like amby and that is the end. Tata service or refinement has not improved in a decade. You will realise it whenever you get there.Read More

Test Drove the Quadrajet. Felt that Tata's have not really improved in a decade. My Indica is 9 years old and issues remain the same..poor plastic, failures all the time ( the test vehicle seat did not slide back), engine noise and generally a feeling of driving a truck, no fineese. A little sen...timental about my Indica..though I have spent innumerable weekends at the workshop to fix every part twice over, the parts are now the best available...like wider tyres, palio fuses, bosh electricals and battery..I need to peel off the Tata name from the rear and put mine...made the car again..piece by piece and the process continues.. May have been cheaper if I had bought a Honda nine years back rather than spend a fortune and precious time on repairs.. Hail Ratan Tata ! just makes a noise with his Nano and Jaguar, quite like the Indica does on the road, while he drives a Merc.. Santro, i 10 anyday..am now waiting for the diesel i 20.. Go for anything or anyone except TATA or be prepared to spend your resorces and free time in a garage.. Fuel Efficiency is secondary..if it is ..buy a bike.and be better off Read More

this is a good review. i use a 7 year old indica and it has everything replaced by now. if i calculate the total cost, i could have easily bought an esteem or a honda. i will never recommend tata to even my worst enemy.

name one person with a tata car who has not had a problem. i have an indica for 7 years and have changed every single component, some more than once. i need to keep driving to recover my investment. just invested 20k on a a major suspension ( 3rd time)..engine head spruce up ( 2 nd time). its a regu...lar feature..the car just transports..there is nothing like driving pleasure..my engine had seized with a broken timing belt in 3 months of having bought the car. its happenned twice later ..its not expensive on components but this car has embarassed me with family and friends at the most critical times. i came here to read about dicor engines in indigo..but honestly..i will try my best not to buy a tata product..considering swift diesel and awaiting the getz diesel launch..Read More

I think since the users of cars like this are not very discerning and demanding, the companies take us for granted.Sir, you are discussing a car with a 6 lakh +on road price tag. In your case must be well around 5.5 lakhs for an LDi, without power windows, door coloured handles..In this age of com...petition, even a Tata Xeta comes loaded, so does an Estillo Zen, with beige interiors, airbag, tubeless tyres, alloy wheels. A car over 6 lakhs suceeds just because of a good engine. I wish I could lay my hands on this renault engine and fix it in a loaded car myself.Read More

Thanks Ronak..for your rating and suggestion. The palio is my choice too but it has major service and maintainance issues. The diesel version does not sell anymore and second hand may be a bit risky, with parts not easily available. The Indica / Indigo score on that front but the ride is not refined.... Still hoping for another couple of launches..what happenned to Getz diesel? GautamRead More
