Not many people take up the hustling-bustling lifestyle after they get retired from their office life. After a bumpy office life of nearly 30-35 years where work was restricted to 9 to 5, people look for solace in their life. At the age of 58 / 60, not many people even look to engage themselves in work again. Barring a few like our great politicians.Their political career begins after they reach 60's.

Come to Nasik

Look at this sparkling city which is close to Mumbai for ur nirvana in retired life. It will match all the ideal expectations of a retired man that I've just narrated above. Let me talk about them one by one :

A Society that care for its elderly members:Even after being close to Mumbai,it has not yet lost the warmth that is held by people for the elderly members living with them. This is definately because of keenness of Nasik people to take only goodness of Industrialised culture. I would say that Nasik people are not mechanised in their routine life . I'm associated with Nasik for last 17 years (Not my home city), but nothing has changed about the attitude of the Nasik people with the onslaught of ruthless industrialisation. They are still the same typical Indian citizens who like to respect their culture,neighbours and elderly people !

Good and pollution free air to breathe free:Although, there are ample industries existing in and nearby Nasik like places like Ambad, Nasik still breathes pollution free air. This is even after the National Highway passing through it. Well...how it is possible ? This is because of a lot of densely polulated tree areas existing around them. The temp. in Nasik in Winters can be seen at close to 3c to 5 c. Pretty chilly. The onslaught on trees because of growing population has not yet dented the clean air of Nasik. The climate in Nasik around the year comfortable although the winters are chilly.

Availability of farm-fresh vegetables & fresh fruits:There are a number of land pieces in the city of Nasik where genuine farming is carried on. Not to mention that the areas surrounding Nasik are fertile and the farmers have made their rich living out of these fertile lands. Common vegetables like cabbage, cauli-flower, cucumber, tomatoes are the plus points of Nasik soils. Niphad, very close to Nasik is world famous for onions. The way the farm picked vegetables taste is just superb. People like us who stay in Mumbai and eat the stale vegatables would definately cherish this experience.

We'll now come to fruits. Need I say More ?? Nasik is world renowned for its grapes. It is also emerging as one of the major exporter of strawberries from India.

Basic , but to the mark civic amenities:Even being such a close city to Mumbai, even after being such a place hosting a huge number of industries nearly, the Nasik Municipal authorities have been doign decent work for past few years. Well...don't expect world class standards, but they do not frusturate you, the way they frusturate us in Mumbai or Delhi. One more thing, there is no traffic congestion on most of the Nasik roads even after presence of many people having their own vehicles. Even during the Maha-Kumbh, the basic civic facilities are better taken care of, although they are strained during that time.

Going forward, Nasik also boasts the same number of ATMs that are found in Pune or Cochin. It also has the same number of cybercafes that can exist in Ahmedabad or in Jaipur.

Places of god nearby:The city of Nasik is said to be in existence since the Pandava's times giving presence of many auspicious and famous temples nearby. The Sita Gumpha, Godavari Ghat, Muktidham are well attracted tourist destinations. Trimbakeshwar, the origin of Godavari River (Treated like Ganga of western),one the 12 jyotirlingas of god Shiva exists very close to Nasik.

Tension free surroundings : Nasik is one of the safest place to be in. One can freely roam in Nasik at wee hours too. Although, the lifestyle of Nasik is laid back, people do need to travel at odd hours.

Another point, Nasik is well connected to the places by Rail and Road. There is also one Air-port at Nasik, but it is not operated.

This is the ultimate for the post-retired life nirvana ! (Get one place for yourself till the property prices are affordable )
