@somodesh,
a santro is actually a safe and reliable car ?
i beg to defer, first of all small cars dont have crumple zones in which case your pretty much RUST IN PEACE in case of a head on collision
I would always question the safety aspect of a small car , even if you do buy one , don't use th...is for a long distance trip, use your small car in the city, not anywhere elseRead More

I'd be happy if you corrected your grammatical errors in your review.
first of all it makes reading hard, next define what ccchhhh sound is ?
and by the look of things i doubt your claims of touching 200kmph and zig zagging at 175
did you attempt this at a german autobahn ?
nextly at 1.6 litres... its still a medium sized engine nothing great when you compare a maserati or aston martin so get your feet back on the ground
its a decent car but overpriced and probably expensive spares just like most hyundai cars areRead More

i'm still wondering whats in the advanced 32 bit microprossor of maruti's thats different from the other 32 bit microprossers in the other cars
you said it beats the city by a mile, i'm assuming this is a honda city reference !
but there are no facts and figures to back up the title
in any case ...this car is pretty average, over priced, like most 1.6 models has a mileage of 8-10 kmpl
and thats it
anything more is an exaggerationRead More

dude muscular looks and cockpit like interiors ? cliche like word that you would come across in every single auto magazine
by the way here are a few comparisons between the SX4 and my 1.6 Litre Fiat Palio Sport
Fiat Palio 1.6 Sport
Engine Type : Petrol 4 cylinder
Displacement (cc) : 1596
Ma...ximum Power:100 PS @ 5500 rpm
Torque :137 Nm @ 4250 rpm
Valves Per Cylinder:DOHC, 4 valves
Fuel System:Electronic multipoint with 32 bit microprocessor
Price : 505,000 On Road, Mileage 10-12 Kmpl
extras : fully loaded with alloy wheels, Mp3 player , 4 speakers, and leather seats
Engine Immobilizer, Fire Prevention System
According to Maruti's website
SX4 Zxi Version Specs :
Engine : 16 Valve DOHC
Cylinders : 4
Valves : 16
Displacement is 1586 CC
Max Output : 102BHP@5500 RPM
Max Torque : 145Nm@4200 RPM
Price : 6-7 lakhs on Road
comparing the 2 i think my fiat > SX4 in terms of performance, safety and looks
Suzuki isn't the best of cars by any stretch of imagination
the Indian public keep getting fooled with this perception
just because they were the first entrants into the market , it doesnt mean everything they launch is the latest and greatest

i have this phone for a good 1.5 years now and i've never ever had a problem with
so i really cannot comment on the service
but i'm assuming you would receive more than average service, depending on what your definition of average service means

Edit : I stand corrected ! Fiat owns Ferrari apologies please :)
i went in for the sports version because i think i will use it sparingly and having a 1.6 is a definitely better feeling than a 1.1 you feel awesome inside

So I was contemplating replacing my ageing maruti with another car, with a budget around 4-5 lakhs, and with following vendors to choose from
suzuki - swift, alto
hyundai - getz
Fiat - palio Stile
Tata - Indigo
The alto seemed a very small upgrade from my M800 , the indigo was a...Read more

what about safety ?
what about reliability ?
those freebies you mentioned are standard accessories with other cars
whats the cost of spares just in case you need to get it replaced
i will however agree on a few things, wide dealer/service base in the country which is a good thing
the mileage is... another plus
its not a bad deal, but i wish the car looked like a carRead More

hahahaha yet another disappointed santro owner , i dont blame you. i dont think it worth the 3-4 lakhs you spend to buy this car, when you want to buy a car buy a car not a toy i know the afford ability comes to mind but then again there are so many good cars around, the alto, the old zen, the swift..., the getz, the palio are all better than the santroRead More

i can sympathise with your woes at the dealership%0d%0abut did you not know that if it was a holiday you should wait a day or 2? sure everyone's eager but an extra day of patience will help ,next the dealer was totally wrong in refusing to accept a cheque, your option at that time was to cancel your... booking and go somewhere else, you are the customer not him ! dont get taken for a ride,i've been reading tons of reviews on mouthshut, other carwebsites about the swift and its got 2 underlying problems. reliability 2. dealership.dealers dont care for the customer simply because 3/5 cars on the road today are a maruti , if not you then someone else is a bad attitude, which is why i opted not to buy a marut, good luck with the car though and smooth gear changing, and smart riding in the city will help you boost your mileage%0d%0aalso remember not to use your horn that much :)Read More
