Oscar Wilde once said "The public is wonderfully tolerant. It forgives everything except genius". Where my intelligence is concerned, these ain't mere genius. They are the Jehovahs of creativity. They are the dauntless stalwarts of worksmanship. In one of our palsy-walsy conversations, god ma...Read more

Did I see a Kid Rock number in between Dylan and Denver? Quite an astounding contrast. Most of them picks were good. Enid-A-Drink

I think you should read the rhyme by Mearns. Then you might make sense out of the song. Thanks Enid-A-Drink

I can't really put Everybody Hurts up there but yeah, it is sure a great song that has been equally well covered. Enid-A-Drink

For diehards(like me) avowal of covers is highly sporadic. It takes at least a zillion listening before I vouch for a cover. To me, a cover is an individual-heteromorphic perception of an original. A very risky proposition, one could easily goof up trying to fiddle with an original classic. T...Read more

Civil War is birlliant. Out of the 11 or 12 versions I have of 'Knockin on...', apart from Dylan's and Clapton's versions, GNR's is good. Which album did the cover version of Don McLean's 'Since I don't have you' feature? UYI-1? Enid-A-Drink

Well said. There are times where you watch a film and despise it at the first look, then you sit back and think and realize, it wasn't as bad. A few years later, its one of your best-loved. One such film is Blade Runner. On the contrary, there are films like Titanic which, I fess to have enjoy...ed when I first watched it (maybe, the age factor got something to do with it), but, today I see it as a very prosaic fare. Cape Fear and Seven - Horror films? Since When? The Shining is one of the worst films Kubrick ever made or King has ever written. No. Its not my conclusion, Kubrick said it himself. Enid-A-Drink

Very well said. Though I am new and getting to know MS, I still don't understand a lot of topics and the lingo used in the articles (because, all of 'em don't stick to just English). I don't think writing is about drawing crowds. Its about self contentment. I write beacuse, I enjoy it and, ...I write for myself because, I believe, there ain't no better person than meself to judge what I write. Enid-A-DrinkRead More

Maybe you should try write in English next time. I don't think I can understand this language (whatever it was). A junior school kid can write better grammar. Sorry. Enid-A-Drink

Only if the world behaved in terms of idealists like you and me, it would have been an immaculate place to live. Escapists find their condolement in Music and Films, so do I. Very profound your review was and I presuppose, so was the book. Enid-A-Drink

Yet to catch up with this Vittorio De Sica's masterpiece. I am on the look out for the Editor's choice, but I ain't sure if it has been released on the DVD. Not that I fully understand your references to corruption, but your column was quite good. I do enjoy painless reading sometimes. Enid-A...-DrinkRead More

Great choices. You missed out on two of my favourites, Eddie Van Halen and Jimi Hendrix. I rate Hendrix above any living person ever to have touched a guitar. A very self-indulgent and an amazing improvisor he was. Enid-A-Drink

Arnie, Stallone, Chuck Norris and Diesel are the brand of actors who can flex their muscles, jump around and save the world and their missies in distress. Nothing beyond. Stallone is gauche in most of his films. 'Assasins' is maybe, a tad better than his other action flicks. It kinda keeps you e...ngrosed for a while. Beyond that, there is not much about the film or Stallone that one can talk about. I think there are a lot better films of this genre. Ronin? The Day of the Jackal? Bullit? Heat?
