My family was invited to spend a day at the VGP resort. we were thrilled. The fact that the resort was just half a km away from the beach was exciting.  Looked like the rooms in the resort were refurbished recently and tastefully done at that. Hi I am still surprised that the resort (Jungle Inn ) has not improved yet. The tents that we stayed in had field mice coming into the tents at night and my daughter and I had food poisoning as a result we had to cut short our stay and leave. The manager was indifferent to the situation. Totally ...hopeless place. We stayed there in 2009 .Read More

Whats with people feeding monkeys?

Hi I read your interesting review about Bandipur. First of all I would like to point out that Kenneth Anderson though a popular Author among the common people is not considered so by the naturalists and people who know about wild cats. For instance in some of his books he talks about Tigers carry...ing its prey on its back which is proven to be false. There is no recorded evidence of Tigers carrying their prey on their backs. Also the chapter about 'Black Magic' is in bad taste for a 'naturalist ' . I must admit that a few chapters on bird calls are interesting though. Secondly, the fact that you got out of the vehicle to take pictures of elephants is a 'no no' in a wildlife sanctuary , a very foolish act indeed. Though there are no rules in the sanctuaries (except for an occasional warning sign board ) , it is something that you must follow not only for your safety but to preserve the natural surroundings and its habitat. your write up I hope does not encourage other guys to do the same. When we travel to a place we look look for a few basic things like shelter, food and places to explore in and around ur place of stay. If 2 out of 3 are not up to mark you need to point out these things so that people are aware and are not in for a rude shock especially those families with small chi...ldren (whom you cant expect to overlook bad living conditions for the sake of serene surroundings). People who dont have small kids will go to places like Pompeii Valley irrespective of bad rooms or bad reviews anyway, Frank and honest reviews benefits the families with kids and those who want value for money.
