My family was invited to spend a day at the VGP resort. we were thrilled. The fact that the resort was just half a km away from the beach was exciting. Looked like the rooms in the resort were refurbished recently and tastefully done at that. The spacious rooms with wooden floors gave it a warm and cozy feel. The fact that the rooms had spacious storage space and a safe to keep belongings was a good thing, as we often ventured out.(mostly to the beach).
Since the resort was by the sea shore we could take bicycles to the beach anytime we felt like. The advantage of staying here was that we could go to the beach or the Universal Kingdom which had rides, to the Snow Kingdom which was just next door and to the petting zoo which was inside the resort itself.
We spent an hour at the petting zoo. The zoo had goats that were friendly, geese that followed us everywhere, cockatoo, macaw, deer, emu and guinea Fowls. We then went to the Snow Kingdom.definitely a "must go to place" given the fact that Chennai is terribly hot and playing in the snow was divine.
We took a dip in the swimming pool and had a quite dinner in their famous "Dosai Kadai" a restaurant that has glass enclosures.which gave it an outdoor feel and privacy minus the noise. The highlight of the place was of course the jacuzzi in the rooms in an open courtyard. Good rooms, good food, the sea, sand and Pure Bliss! Well, a great recipe to beat stress I would say! You must try it!
