The Best Part of Winter

By: mysticalmalli | Posted Jul 21, 2011 | General | 499 Views

The weather outside is just awesome. The crisp air, breezy atmosphere, the dancing trees and the grey clouds make for a picture perfect scene. After all, isn’t this why people refuse to leave Bangalore and settle down in any other place?

This weather means different things to different people. For young love birds, it’s a reason to head to the nearest park and spend the day cuddling up to each other, looking into each other’s eyes, holding hands and whispering sweet nothings. For some, it’s about heading to the nearest bajji vendor and eating piping hot and sumptuous mirchi, aloo or banana bajjis. For the uninitiated, “bajji” is a colloquial term for a fried snack, a.k.a pakora in Hindi. And for some, it’s about going on a long drive on a motorbike or a car with a bunch of friends, enjoying the picturesque locales outside.

But for me, the best part of this weather is my quilt. Just thinking about it makes me long for my bedroom with my cozy bed, the fan running in high speed and me snuggling into my dearest quilt. It’s a modest piece, bought somewhere in the by-lanes of an area called Malleshwaram in Bangalore. But for me, it’s one of my choicest possessions. It provides me with a warmth and comfort that is so satisfying. I tend to forget all my worries and just sleep like a little baby. No matter how badly I handle it, it just reciprocates with unconditional love and surrender.

How I wish us humans too, could live our relationships the same way. Life would be a lot happier then. There’s so much that we can imbibe even from a non-living thing. It’s just a matter of perception. Anyway, what do you guys like best about winter? Would love to know J.
