If I were stuck in a lift with Shahrukh Khan

By: mysticalmalli | Posted Jul 14, 2011 | General | 617 Views

“Hi Shahrukh!!!!” . Well, this cliched phrase certainly won’t do justice to kick-off this rather unusual confrontation, but nevertheless, the dimwitted girl that I am, I’m pretty sure my tiny little brain won’t be able to think of anything more innovative than that. Also, it’s pretty evident that if stuck in a lift with Shahrukh Khan, it’s me who has to initiate the conversation and not him, considering the probabilities of him recognizing me are slightly more remote than me doing the same. (He he!! Now, I never claimed to be modest, did I?)

OK, so I enter the lift to see the Badshah of Bollywood standing there and before I know it, the lift stops. Call it malfunction, power cut, electrical failure or sheer divine intervention! Since the conversation has already started, thanks to me, the next subsequent question would be “How are you?”. Whilst thinking of what next to ask him, I then try and digest the enormity of the personality standing before me. I then, proceeded to tell him that I’ve been his biggest fan and seen all his movies right from childhood. And he yawns..Must have heard it at least a billion times, if not more. Brace yourself, girl, I tell myself, slightly annoyed at the way I conducted myself. I then, thought of asking him about his upcoming movie “RA-ONE” and how the promos looked super exciting. Now, the man is interested and starts giving me some interesting trivia on the movie and its release. But my mind is now thinking “How lucky is wife must be, to have the biggest superstar in the country as a husband! I try to act as decent as I can and ask him about his family and their well-being, while I try very hard to restrain myself from shouting “I LOVE YOU”.

A sudden jerk and the lights are back on, putting an end to my dream confrontation. The lift resumes, he reaches his floor, gets off with a wave of the hand and there I found myself… I, me and myself, with my stray thoughts and no one else.
