I still remember when I was around 10 years old, Heart full of passion and love I intensely listened music and so much so into guitaring. I use to jam a lot with friends. I remember such afternoon when guys were discussing about the romantic songs in rock genre and I heard this song and at the moment I fall for it. Even today, whenever this song plays my heart floats here and there, I am on cloud no. 9 and still remember how insane love can make you but you still would love it.
Legendary guitarist Mark Knopler wrote this song for his ex-gf who dumped him and actually was using him to have a glimpse of limelight nevertheless he still was into her. In an interview, when the host asked her if there was something between her and Mark; she said "yeah you know I used to have a scene with him", Mark was torn apart by this statement eventually included this line in the song.
