Me too@ voice against sexual offenders

From past few months we all are reading, hearing and applauding the Me too movement. This strong campaign Me too is a battle against sexual assault and sexual misconduct. This movement was originally started in 2006 by Tarana Burke, a civil rights activist. After Hollywood now India has also stormed up with Me too movement. Many well named persons from the field of Bollywood, media, press and politics have being named as accused of sexual harassment. Different victims who have raised their voice against these powerful and famous personalities needs a great applaud from the society. It needs a great courage to speak about such shameful acts in our society. In our male dominant society most of the men feels that they can treat females as a lifeless object. It’s so appalling when we come across such cases where males sitting on the highest post of their work fields take advantage of their post and power. They physically assaults and harass their colleagues, sub ordinates and juniors.

In the light of Me too movement many females have come forward to share their story about getting sexually assaulted by these culprits. It’s very sad and hurtful to read about such stories where females are raped, physically misconducted or troubled by their seniors. Some courageous females have shared how they were totally devastated with this kind of misbehavior but they kept quiet due to shame or society pressure. These kinds of predators are not harm for the females around them but for the whole society. They must get punished severely in such a way so that everyone gets a lesson.

It’s really shocking and surprising that popular names like Nana Patekar, Chetan Bhagat, MJ Akbar, Subhash Ghai, Sajid Khan, Alok Nath, Kailash kher, Rajat Kapoor, Rahul Johri, Vipul Shah, Subhash Ghai have come under the me too scanner. All the victims have their own horrific tales of sexual offence which they suffered. Females who are victims of these acts are also well known from their fields. Most of the victims belong to Bollywood, media and from fashion industry. Till now not all the allegations have proved and some people are calling them baseless as well. But males with filthy mentality make it difficult for females to work in their workplace with peace. They can stoop very low and this kind of behavior is totally unacceptable. My heart goes out for the victims of rape and physical assaults; this leaves a woman in a misery for rest of her life. Anything which is against her wish is intolerable.

However I would like to say important things that in some cases males are also getting targeted. Males can be victimized, if a lady wants to take personal advantage from such campaigns she can make a false accusation easily. We all have learnt about some cases in the past where woman tried to blackmail and torment rich and powerful personalities on the name of false harassment charges. Some highly ambitious women can also make false stories like these to get highlighted and famous.

But if any women feel unsafe or uncomfortable working with some particular male fellow then she must take action, share and inform this to the management. If a person passes lewd comments or sexy remarks you must condemn this strongly. This is so disturbing to find such stories of harassment in the workplace from victims. I think Me too is a great platform to come forward and expose those predators who think females are object. This is high time that now women come together and strongly say no to any kind of offence against them.
