How important is mental health?

I think everyone would agree with me if I say that this current time of virus emergency has given all of us a very hard time. Yes off Course millions of people lost their lives worldwide. The whole world saw and challenged a dark, sad and gloomy time. But with this all one more important problem which occurred is mental stress or emotional anxiety which reached on the top. Yes I am saying many people have faced depression, distress thoughts and poor emotional health. The reason may differ but there is a certain amount of people who felt fear, anxiety, hopelessness and irritability during lockdown period.


First of all like we maintain our body and physical health; same way our mental being must be fit and healthy. Emotional or mental health is also very important and if one can’t think clearly and rationally that would lead to depression. During this lockdown most of us were stressed and worried about our health, jobs, financial security and many other problems which caused a sense of fear among us. I read and heard many news, stories and incidents about weird incidents of domestic abuse, suicides and acts of aggression which were somewhere pointed the finger towards the sick mind. Here I would describe if we say not good mental health doesn’t mean a person is mad or insane, but it may say that he or she needs help. Sometimes we feel bored, negative and unwell that happens with most of us and its very normal. Our mood swings and sometimes we do feel angry without reason as well.


But if someone is suffering from chronic anxiety, feeling hopeless and getting negative thoughts continually. This means he or she needs to share this problem with the family or with a friend. Sometimes after sharing our problems and telling our issues help in positive way. A good family support nurture emotional health and makes the person mentally strong. Sometimes one has to take help from counseling, which help in bringing back the confidence and interest in everything. So if you find someone going through emotional or mental distress do give your hand of support. Be a good listener and try to bring change with hope.
