Commuters suffer as Mumbai auto-rickshaw strike kicks in

By: meera_1der | Posted Aug 31, 2016 | General | 7260 Views | (Updated Aug 31, 2016 11:29 AM)

The innocent Mumbaikar will encounter hardships as the autorickshaw's go on strike to protest against app-based aggregators like ola and Uber.

The Autorickshawmen?s union believes that transportation of commuters in private vehicles operated by drivers without badges is illegal and demands a complete ban on them.

Since my office is in the suburbs,I come across these rickshaw-walas daily.

What pisses me off is that these rickshaw-walas are in denial mode most of the time.

Pali naka? NO. Linking road? NO.? Hill road NO baba NO!

No amount of requesting or pleading can make their NO become a YES.

On the other hand,we have Ola and Uber who believe that the'Consumer is king'.These guys take us where we want and when we want. It appears the word NO doesn't exist their dictionaries

I think that these rickshaw-walas should take a leaf from these taxi aggregators.

Rather than of going on strike, Auto-rickshaw drivers should try to change their apathetic behaviour.and should strive towards being more concerned about the customers the way ola/Uber do.
