A start-up idea Indian entrepreneurs need to ponder upon.

Everyone loves a start-up which works for a cause, don't we?

A Melbourne-based start-up BooksOnTheRail is trying to revive the long lost habit of reading in today's age where we are all glued to our smartphones screens.

How are they doing this?

People leave their favourite books on the Melbourne Metro, trams and buses. They're left to be taken, read, shared, and most importantly, enjoyed! The book should have a BooksOnTheRail sticker, which can be obtained by writing a mail to the start-up, for people to understand the purpose of leaving the book.

The founders seem to have been inspired by the famous marketing mantra "Word of mouth".

Once a book is found, it's new owner is encouraged to take to social media and post it with the hashtag #BooksOnTheRail.

Once they are finished with the book, they simply leave it on the next train, tram or bus they catch.

The company has also reached out to authors and publishers to share their work.

It could be a revolutionary idea for novice writers who want to get their work acknowledged and reach out to the audiences.

Wouldn't it be great if we had a similar concept in India?

Other than those who have literary love, It could even be beneficial for the poor who cannot afford to buy expensive novels.

Indian Entrepreneurs need to come up with such ideas. Since start-ups in India majorly focus on those who can afford, we might be looking at a paradigm shift with a focus on those who can't.
