Bihar Arts stream Class XII exam topper, Ruby Rai, wrote "Tulsidas ji, Pranaam" in her re-test where she was asked to write an essay on saint poet Tulsidas. She could not answer questions from the exam that made her a topper, in a re-test. When confront by the panel of moderators, she said "I studied for two years and wrote the answers in the February-March examination, but now I have forgotten the answers."
Based on her performance, BSEB cancelled her results. She told her interrogators that all she wanted was to pass and not top the exam. "Maine to Papa se kaha tha pass karwa dijiye, unhone ne to top hi karwa diya," Indian Express quoted her as saying.
Patna special SP heading the Special Investigation Team(SIT) into the scam, Manu Maharaj explained "The arts topper was very forthright in accepting that she did not deserve to be a topper."
"She had expected second division at best. She now blames her guardians and Vishnu Roy College principal, Bachcha Rai, for making her topper," he added.
Meanwhile, other toppers cleared the re-examination process that involved a 14-member panel of experts, who examined all toppers individually.
In her interaction with reporters(the video that got the scam into a microscope), she couldn't even pronounce "Political Science" properly.
However, this is not the first time that Bihar is making headlines for mass cheating. Remember the video that surfaced couple of years ago, where parents climbed walls to help children with chits.
