I had a horrid time last summer with my I20's AC. My biggest mistake was not visiting the service station. My wife was laughing at me for making such a huge mistake after all the reserch. I then got sun filmed including the front. This improved the situation quite a bit. A few months down the line, ...I ran into a problem. Even in top speed, there was very little blowing - let alone the cooling. I finally took it to V3 Hyundai in Chennai. This is a new Hyundai dealer in Chennai. No appointments required - just walked in. Within 10mts, I was called inside the service area to check the AC in the car. You should have seen the wide grin on my face! The AC in my I20 was blowing cold air like I had never experienced before. Apparently, the filter was blocked with dust. I doubt if it was just the dust. I think they did something else too. I can only speculate. My AC's performance now is much better than what it was when I bought it last summer. I'm now a happy I20 owner. AC is no longer a problem. I suggest you to take your car to the service station. Tell them V3 Hyundai, Chennai has a trick up their sleeve. Make them read this post. I strongly believe your AC problem can be resolved. I have owned Toyotas and Hondas before. But I have to say that I'm really impressed with Hyundai's service. They do listen. Oh, btw, after a year of driving I20, I think I finally know when to use the 2nd gear. I will keep this car for a few more years. Wish you good luck in getting your AC fixed.Read More

Nice review Dwight. I've been driving this car for about 9months now. I'm very happy except for the power (mind you, I drive with a full load and with AC). AC was ineffective last summer. I think the blower (fan) speed is inadequate. Have you used the cool glove box? What is your opinion? I think it... has a very mild effect. I'm wondering if this additional AC vent provided inside the glove box is reducing the overall efficiency of the AC. The interior quality of this car is top notch. The steering audio control is one such example - feels very firm and solid. Try the ones on Manza (It will not last more than a year). How do you use the automatic climate control? I have tried setting it to 21 Deg. C, but find it inadequte. After 10,000Kms, I must say I made the right choice. Not a single glitch in the car so far considering the Toyota and Honda cars I owned had problems before and after the warranty period.Read More

tssree: I haven't paid attention to their adds. 5* rating could be for the crash worthiness tomas_in_hawai: You said 'ABS actually increases stopping distance'. I take you agree with me on my comment. Yes, I would prefer to skid and hit the curb or hit another car that is travelling in the same d...irection as mine. That is better than missing the traffic light due to ABS and getting hit from the sides by a dump truck at the intersection. dj_rock: Yes, there is a problem with the 2nd gear. This might work fine in Europe, but very frustrating on Indian conditions. Hyundai has gone wrong with the gear ratios.Read More

After 5 months and 6000kms, I thought it was time to write a review of my i20. Thanks to the mouthshut community for their unbiased reviews. The depth of some of the reviews does put the so called experts to shame. I recently relocated to India after working in the US for more than 10 years. ...Read more
