Hyundai i20: AC sucks. Buy swift. Dont go for i20. Review on Hyundai i20

I purchased a Hyundai i20 (era model which was recently launched) and got delivery on June 13 2010 from Jayabharat Hyundai. I have driven 650 kms till date and want to write this review specifically in connection to air conditioner of the car. I was driving Indica Diesel prior to this purchase. I drove indica for 95k kms before selling it last month. I am used to air conditioning of Indica and my expectation was hyundai i20 A/C would be better or atlease equal to that of Indica. But to my surprise the A/C in i20 is pathetic.

Basically the design of a/c vents itself is incorrect. no matter how you adjust the vents, air will never reach your forehead. Even after keeping the AC to max cooling and keeping the fan at speed 4 (highest), air hardly reaches you (even in drivers seat). While driving I was hardly getting any cool air even at max fan speed. I used to get this kind of cooling at fan speed 1 in my Indica. I20 cooling is really pathetic as compared to any other car. I think I should have purchased swift/dzire. Hyundai (koreans) should be thrown out of this country. In Mumbai it gets really hot in summers and I wonder how will I 20 a/c respond to rising mercury during summers. I m thinking of selling this brand new car , cos powerful a/c is a must in Mumbai. I wonder the Nano would be having a better a/c. I am not a big fan of TATA Motors as overall TATA cars are pathetic, however a/c in tata cars is really powerful, forget other aspects :).

One point on hyundai dealer; Jayabharat (now they have changed the name to Pramukh)- They are the biggest cheaters. They will make all false claims to sell you the car and after the sale has been done, they will not entertain your calls. Post sales serviceis pathetic.

My sincere advice to all prospective Hyundai i20 buyers: Please dont waste your hard earned money on i20. The a/c sucks and cooling is PATHETIC. Buy a Maruti Swift/Dzire instead. THROW Koreans into gutter... Japanese manufacturers are anyday better.
