Nice review. How are the insulation of the Ford Figo. Lot of Engine noise gets in? How is the Engine sound of 1.2L Petrol. I have heard a lot that it gives a awsome note at high rpms. My family is looking for a car which has low engine noise in the cabin because our current Alto LXi is extremly nois...yRead More

Nice review. Do post some pics of your car. i absolutely love the Ford Figo and would love to have a White Ford Figo ZXi 1.2L. But the only thing that puts me back is Ford's service.

My father bought a Red MARUTI 800 STD in January, 1987. At that time MARUTI SUZUKI service sucked even more than Tata-Fiat probably. The thing is that it takes Time to build a service network. Ford did’nt have a large service network compared to Maruti and Hyundai because Ford cars were not meant fo...r the masses unlike now. Ford Escort wasn’t Maruti 800 or Hyundai Santro or Tata Indica which is why Ford did not consider building a GIGANTIC Sales and Service Network. Most people here are saying because Figo is a Ford. Had Figo been a TOYOTA FIGO or HONDA FIGO, 99% of the people would have said ’’MY DREAM CAR’’, ’’FIGO ROCKS, SWIFT SUCKS’’, etc etc . Basically BULLSHIT AFTER BULLSHIT OF THE PUREST FORM WITHOUT ANY KNOWLEDGE ABOUT CARS. Oh and btw. FORD knows more about cars than Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, Honda, Toyota after all they were the ones who actually started the world’s first Mass produced car "Ford Model T" People here are talking only about Service. IF you want good service and mileage. Better drive a Bullock Cart. I am sure its maintenance is low compared to a DDiS Multijet Engine powered Swift or even Maruti 800. :).......lolzzzzzzzz hahahaRead More

Go for the Ford Figo, its better value for money and unlike Swift it actually feels like a Proper Car. I was very fond of Swift the day i saw it but when we had test drove a Swift ZXi in 2006, trust me it feels so Dark, Closed and Packed inside. There is no space. The waist lines are so high. I...t feels as if your Oxygen supply is going to be cut off anytime. Swift is a purely teen car. It will look good with College Students and Teenagers but not with ’’Professional People’’ like Doctors, Engineers, Managers etc etc (That’s what i feel) :). My family has driven Maruti Suzuki Vehicles for 23yrs but i don’t like Swift’s weird dimensions and looks. I would go for the Swift only for the K-Series Engine otherwise HELL NO. Except Alto, A-star, SX4, Grand Vitara, the looks of rest all cars of Maruti aka Estilo, WagonR, Swift, Ritz Swift DZire SUCK bigtime. Actually Ritz looks very good from the front but it sucks more than anything from the back. But Ford Figo’s 1.2L Duratec Petrol Engines are also good. I was seeing both the Swift and Figo’s Roadtests on www.carwale.com and did not find any BIG BIG GIGANTIC TITANIC difference in the Performance of both Engines. Both are equally good i feel. Infact i feel K-Series Engines of Swift doesn’t give that performance according to the Engine Specification data on the papers BUT Figo’s Engine does give that performance, i mean i thought what performance a 71ps Engine give compared to a 85ps Engine. And i found Figo’s Engine gives more performance in reality for its specifications. If you are living in the City, After sales won’t be a problem if you take any car brand. Ford Figo’s Roadtest:- http://www.carwale.com/research/roadtests /view.aspx?id=55&pageId=6 Maruti Suzuki Swift’s Roadtest:- http://www.carwale.com/research/roadtests /view.aspx?id=60&pageId=6 I did not find any great difference in the performance of both the Engines. Hi friend, we are using a White Alto LXi (BS II) for almost 6yrs. My advice is that instead of going for the Alto LX go for the Alto LXi. Its really worth it. When we bought our Alto in 2004 we were also going for the LX model but at the last moment we decided to go for the LXi model with Power ...Steering. The delivery of your Alto LX is being delayed probably because maximum demand is for the LXi model which has Power Steering. And plus the LXi model has a better re-sale value. I would suggest you to switch over to the Alto LXi model. Its worth the extra-money. Trust meRead More

Hi gotoharry, i liked the Ford Figo a lot and would love to have a White Ford Figo Zxi 1.2 Petrol. So far i have researched a lot on Ford Figo and got all positive responses. But i am confused whether to go for a different brand because for 23yrs my family has driven only Maruti Suzuki Vehicles. And... plus the area where i stay there are two Maruti Suzuki Dealerworkshops (one of them is a 3S Dealership). i have researched a lot and found that Ford Figo is probably the best car for us because Swift is old, Ritz sucks from the back, i10/Beat are small, i20/Polo is not worth the price and Santro, WagonR, Spark, Estilo, A-star m not even thinking about it. I like Ford because their cars are not flashy and that no body will dislike it. Personally i feel Maruti lacks the knowledge in building cars because they are just dragging the old models on and on and on with facelifts, minor changes etc etc. Maruti is in demand because they have a awsome service and dealer network which not even Hyundai and Tata can match. One thing i hate about Maruti is that they have never been commited to India in bringing latest vehicles unlike Hyundai, Chevrolet etc and none of the Maruti vehicles can be actually called as Family vehicles. Marutis really lack space and comfort, they are better suited for single people, college students etc etc but really not for Families. I am actually waiting for the Toyota Etios and Honda’s small car to compare them with Figo.Read More

'Gear shifting is accurate and easy- a pleasure to play with. Push down lever to put Reverse gear. ' Where is this 'lever' located? i have never come across this type of gear shift pattern which is found in European Cars

Do you even own a Figo? If not then BEAT it. Punto's 1.2L engine is outdated and sucks.....its 8V SOHC whereas Figo's is 16V DOHC. Swift is known for rattles. Ritz is a good car but looks pathetic from behind.

Hi,good review. can you put the full picture of your Figo’s dashboard? i want to see how it looks in black. Btw how is the 1.2L engine sound. I heard it produces Awsome sounds at high rpm and is super smooth and silent Ford Figo ZXi has really caught my attention. I want to go for someother ...brand than Maruti Suzuki but i am not sure about other car brand service. Once you taste the Maruti Suzuki service and network its very hard to let go.Read More

Yeah i agree they should have given more PS than just 71ps. It doesnt look good on the papers. But Car performance matters most on the Engine Displacement and Torque. The more displacement a engine makes, the more power it gets. The old Honda City 1.5L had the following Specifications:- 14...97cc/4 (1.5L) 8V SOHC 77ps@5500rpm 125Nm@2700rpm but still its performance was better than the Hyundai Accent 1.5L which had 94ps@5500rpm/125Nm@3500rpm and Maruti Esteem 1.3 which had 85ps@6000rpm/110Nm@4500rpm (both the cars had 16V SOHC MPFi engines) The old Honda City had a top speed of 171km/h with 77ps The Esteem had a top speed of 164km/h with 85ps The Accent had a top speed of 170+km/h with 94ps So in the end Engine Displacement and Torque matters the most for performance. In India, most customers have ZERO KNOWLEDGE about Engines and Performance and go only through dumb anchors of Auto Shows And No offence, you should’nt write a review on something you do not own. A minor Test Drive cannot tell anything about the car. Its a factRead More

The Suzuki K-Series K12M Engine is any day better than the 1.2L Kappa Engine of Hyundai. Hyundai engines have refinement but lack performance. whereas each and every Maruti Engine right from the 800cc F8D engine to the 1.6L VVT M16A engine have Performance which Hyundai, Tata, Chevrolet, Ford, Fiat,... Renault Engines lack. Btw K12M engine is more refined than the kappa engine of Hyundai. Overall Hyundais are good for refinement and Suzukis are good for Performance. Hyundai Cars lack that Highway Performance which Suzuki Cars have. WagonR beats Santro on the Highway A-star beats i10 on the Highway Swift beats Getz on the Highway Ritz beats i20 on the Highway SX4 beats Verna on the Highway its a fact that Hyundais always run out of breadth on Highways. but there engine refinement is amazing.Read More

Country Club is a Fraud, i hate seeing Reddy's face in the newspapers. In 2005 some Country Club Sales Man named VINAY KUMAR came to my father and invited us to have a look at their club. We went over there and this man and his manager asked for our Credit Card just for a look. And without our know...ledge deducted the money for the membership. When my father came to know this he was furious but this sales man said 'Sir, its and investment. You can cancel the membership later if you want.' Hi bubai26, i am happy you liked my review. You know now days d modern day cars don't give you that feeling what the 'early modern day' cars like Maruti 800, Maruti 1000 or Maruti Zen use to give........really no. Even we will also keep our 800 forever. I probably think so Maruti 800 will become a s...tatus symbol because by 2020 or 2030 ........very few ppl will own itRead More

Honda Cars are always overpriced than most of other cars in the same segment. Honda ppl know that ppl in India go for the brand ,rather than the car and thats why its priced so high. I mean just look at Honda Jazz priced at more than Rs 750,000, you can get a SX4 or a Verna in dat price which are be...tter. Maruti Suzuki is the most relaible car company in India. Maruti Suzuki is more reliable then Hyundai any day. I have a Maruti 800 for the last 23yrs and its still working the way it was the first day my father bought it in January,1987. Swift and Ritz are more reliable than i10 and i20. Most i10... owners look only at the i10's biege interiors and judge because biege interiors are normally found in expensive cars. I have a Maruti Suzuki Alto LXi since 2004 from which i have not even face a minor problem till now. Maruti Suzuki Service is any day better than Hyundai Service. Suzuki vehicles are know for their reliabily. Its only recently in the late 1990s Hyundai reliabily has improved. Previously Hyundai reliability across the world was worst than Tata also (search it on google if you want), whereas no customer has ever complained about reliabilty of Maruti Suzuki Cars. And those who have complained , they just blame it on the Car because their driving habits are pathetic.Read More
