Madam, I am shocked that you are taking it so quietly. If the facts that you mentioned are indeed true (and I see no reason why it would not be so), then perhaps a case could be made out against the doctors for medical malpractice. The unfortunate truth is that laws governing medical practice are ...so lax and useless that it would take superhuman efforts to get these medical miscreants to pay for their misdeeds. I have had a similar experience very recently with the same hospital where I was under treatment for malaria and I have experienced very much the same problems that you have mentioned (hence my visit to this site). It is a pity that the self-styled torch-bearers of the very able and well-respected Swami Chinmayananda should remain silent spectators to this rape of the legacy of the swamiji. If there are any among the readers who can bring this to the attention of Aamir Khan and his current serialised programme 'Satyameva Jayate, I think they would be doing a signal service to all Bangaloreans. I am not exactly a votary of government companies, but wherever possible use services offered by government companies - in this case MTNL/BSNL. Atleast they are not obsessed about profits the way private operators are. Ofcourse, you still need to ensure that services are acceptably good, but looking... at the performance of 'private' operators in this regard, I don't think this is such an issue.Read More

Your experience shd be a lesson to all users. Stay away from marketing 'offers'. They are ALWAYS designed to extract more money out of you - not meant to facilitate or better your experience with their product. Be as rude as you can possibly be with such callers - make sure they think 10 times befor...e they make another such call.Read More

If your facts are correct, this straighaway reeks of deceit. Anything to protect the bottom line - that seems the corporate mantra nowadays. And as usual the customer is the first casualty. Don't waste time arguing or pleading. Send them a notice under the Consumer Act.

I have to agree with O P Verma and all the other writers who have slammed DISH TV's predatory way of doing business. DISH TV appears to view all its customers as milch cows and tries to squeeze as much money as possible out of them, by fair means or foul. Their methods are far from transparent, they... are constantly trying to fool their customers into parting with more and more money for less and less viewing time, they have no compunctions about lulling their customers into accepting 'free' channels for viewing and later make you pay for it without even bothering to ascertain if you indeed liked those channels and would want to continue to view them on a paid basis. Their manner of doing this is also very obtuse, and it is impossible to verify exactly how they have arrived at the number of viewing days they have accorded you for the money you have paid them. If you write to them asking them to clarify how they have arrived at the next renewal date, they will fob you off with a reply stating that they have examined the facts and found the renewal date to be correct. What they will avoid telling you is that they have included the hitherto 'free' channels in your bouquet as 'paid' channels and that the money you have paid for say 6 months subscrtiption has been reduced to 5 1/2 months. The reduced viewing period has the effect of increasing you monthly subscrtiption without your knowledge and consent. Such dastardly acts of consummate cheating and arrogance go unchallenged in our country because the powers that be are too deeply engrossed in lining their own pockets and have no time to spare for their citizens' problems. My solution to this is to raise this issue at all public forums continuously and relentlessly until it receives recognition at the highest levels. And, in the meantime, learn from your own experiences. Do not pay more than one months subscription at a time, refuse to accept 'free' channels and treat this 'corporate' mafia as you wRead More

It isn't enough to simply disconnect Airtel services. You need to resolve never to advance payments beyond a maximum period of one month to whatever operator you are subscribing. Making such heavy payments to these unscrupulous sharks in advance is simply playing into their hands.
