This is in reference to Chinmaya Mission Hospital's( Bangalore, Indirangar) staff and the head of the oncology department- Mr Srinivas. I decline to acknwoledge him as a doctor, hence am not addressing him as Dr. I dont find him a human being leave alone a " DOCTOR". Being a doctor is the most noble profession, but unfortunately nowadays it has become the most manipulative profession.

My mother Mrs Meenakshi Menon was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2010. After undergoing a palliative surgery in Kolkata, we shifted her to bangalore for chemotherapy in July 2011. We had heard a lot about the doctors down south, as to how empathetic they are. We got her admitted in HCG bangalore under Dr Shekhar Patil, under him she underwent her six cycles of chemotherapy. After that we admitted her in Manipal Hospital bangalore under Dr Shabber Zaveri for total gatrectomy, but unfortunately after opening her up he said that they found that the disease had spread in the adjoining organs as well, so they could not do the surgery which again I feel was done just to fool us cause being a senior and the most experienced doctor he would have known my mom's case prior to operation as being in an advanced stage.

After a month of the surgery, my mom's condition deteriorated, she was unable to have anything orally, whatever she used to have she used to throw it up. We admitted her again in HCG under Dr shekhar patil, who tried giving her weekly cycles of chemo but even after under going two weekly cycles of chemo, my mom's condition did not improve. She was put on drip. Since there was no possible treatment possible from their side, we shifted her to chinmaya mission hospital, indiranagar which was nearby our place under Dr Vijay Bhaskar (Radiologist), Dr Srinivas (surgical Oncologist and Head of the oncology department).

Dr Vijay Bhaskar who happens to be a friend and who also is associated with HCG was fully aware of her condition still he was insisting for a endoscopy which we did, but after that her condition deteriorated even more, she started hallucinating and she stopped urinating, she was put on cathedral and a neurologist was consulted since her hands had started shivering. She was put on sedatives, Dr Srinivas fully aware of her condition kept on insisting on palliative stenting costing Rs 70000, despite knowing that she was not in a position to swallow a camera again since after the first endoscopy had deteriorated her condition. We had strictly declined on doing any more torture on her and told dr srinivas that we wanted her to be comfortable as long as she is alive. when all his attempts to brainwash us proved futile he made us sign a bond saying that if anything happens to my mother, he or the hospital wont be responsible. After that around 7 pm Dr srinivas came for his usual rounds and again in front of my mom he started blabbering the same story, when we refused to budge, he started scaring us by telling us how painful death my mom will have and that we should take her to kidwai where she would be made to swallow morphine solution, I told the doctor that my mom is not experiencing any kind of pain but still in front of the patient he kept on saying all those things which scare even a normal person leave alone a terminally ill patient. My mom died of heart attack on the same night. Prior to that she was feeling uneasy, when we asked the sister to get the pressure checked, she said that its done only in the morning, can u believe it? she actually said that. My dad was there with my mom at that time, he is a 70 year old man. He could fight with them the way we used to since 3.3.2012 the day she was admitted over there.

I would not recommend Dr Srinivas and Dr vijay bhaskar to even my worst enemy so that no more terminally ill patients have to undergo the kind of torture my mom underwent under him. I even doubt they may have killed my mom giving overdose of sedatives, since the same evening Dr vijay bhaskar had made me and my dad sign a bond.

Both Dr Srinivas and Dr Vijay Bhaskar are involved in this since the latter was present when Dr srinivas was literally threatening us to either make her undergo palliative stenting or get her discharged, He was a silent spectator, and after that when we refused to get her discharged or make her undergo the stenting he made us sign the bond.

I feel sorry for the less educated people who are completely at the mercy of the money mongers, at least we are educated, we could argue and question their course of treatment but what about the less knowledgeable.

No wonder the wealthy people are getting themselves treated abroad because of the pathetic medical practitioners in India, If these doctors are not reprimanded, they continue to harass the patients and their family.
