Was planning to go for the IFB Neptune. But not anymore after seeing all the reviews. Thanks. If there is one thing that pisses the hell out of me, its poor after sales service. Your job does not end after selling the item.

Quick update: 5 summers down and still going strong! That comes to Rs. 3,400 per year which is NOT BAD at all I think. One more summer and I will retire the good ol' chap :-)

Hi guys, its a 1.5 ton AC and the room size is about 12ftx12ft approx. But buying an AC depends on so many more factors - direction of sun, number of windows in walls, the floor on which your apartment is etc. I wont get into too many details about that for now. Dry service is basically nothing... - they will come and open the AC and pretend to clean it. The truth is that the real dirt and dust is accumulated in the fins and only a proper BDS can clean it. Recently I got my first BDS done from a local guy. I paid him a little extra coz he seemed dedicated. In BDS, the guy will remove the unit from the cabinet and take it to a bathroom/balcony. He will use a mug to clean out the dust stuck inside the AC and clean it with a brush. I have a powerful hand shower in my bathroom so I made him use that. Looking at the amount of dust, I was like - no way can that be healthy for me! After that, he will dry it using a high power blower. This dries the machine and blows out any additional dust remaining inside. Make sure you run the unit for 5-10 mins after BDS to ensure that its working properly. According to me, BDS is the only way to go - 3 BDS a year should be great but 2 should also suffice. Dry service is more like a scam.Read More
