I'm writing this review with a heavy heart as someone who invested crores believing in the dream that TVS Emerald Aaranya promised. After living here for over a year, I feel compelled to share my experience to help potential buyers make an informed decision.
The Reality Behind the Marketing Gloss
When my family and I decided to invest in TVS Emerald Aaranya Villa project in Vengaivasal, we were sold on the vision of a premium gated community with world-class amenities. Today, that dream has turned into a daily struggle with multiple issues that significantly impact our quality of life.
Critical Safety Concerns - Construction Quality
The most alarming issue we've faced is the shockingly poor construction quality. Within just one year of moving in, the granite counter in our bathroom sink literally broke and fell, injuring my elderly mother's leg. This isn't just about poor workmanship – it's about the safety of our loved ones. We've also noticed:
Multiple cracks appearing on walls throughout the villa
Substandard tile finishing that's already showing wear
Poorly finished grills that look nothing like the premium fixtures we were promised
A swimming pool that's perpetually "under maintenance" with no proper water filtration system
Health Hazards - Sewage and Sanitation Issues
The Sewage Treatment Plant(STP) is essentially non-functional. Instead of proper processing, untreated sewage water with an unbearable stench is being directed to plant areas. This has created a breeding ground for mosquitoes, putting all residents, especially children and elderly, at risk of vector-borne diseases. Despite repeated complaints, this serious health hazard continues unaddressed.
Security Concerns - Not the Gated Community We Were Promised
Here's something crucial that potential buyers must know: This is NOT a private gated community as advertised. All roads and Open Space Reserves(OSR) actually belong to the panchayat. We've been living with:
An alarming number of stray dogs roaming freely through the property
No real security infrastructure as the boundary walls can be demolished anytime for public access
Complete lack of the exclusivity and security that justified the premium pricing
Broken Promises and Misrepresentation
The sales team's promises have proven to be outright misrepresentations:
We were explicitly told this would remain an exclusive villa-only project. Now, apartments are being constructed, changing the entire character of the development
My villa was supposed to overlook greenery and a compound wall. Instead, they've set up a sales office directly opposite my house, destroying our privacy and creating constant disturbance from visitor traffic
Infrastructure Failures
The infrastructure issues make daily life challenging:
Storm water drainage is practically non-existent, leading to flooding during rains
The Water Treatment Plant(WTP) status is perpetually questionable
Water hardness levels are extremely high, damaging appliances and affecting health
The entrance at Aaranya arch regularly floods with drainage water from the neighboring Shobha project
Heavy construction vehicles have damaged roads, creating dust pollution and safety hazards
Unresponsive Management
Perhaps most frustrating is the complete lack of accountability. All these issues have been repeatedly brought to the facility manager's attention, but no meaningful action has been taken. It feels like once they have your money, resident welfare becomes irrelevant.
My Sincere Advice
To anyone considering TVS Emerald Aaranya: Please, please explore other options. Don't let the glossy brochures and smooth-talking sales team convince you otherwise. Visit multiple times, talk to current residents, and see the reality for yourself.
We paid crores expecting a dream home in a premium community. Instead, we're trapped in a property with declining value, safety hazards, and broken promises. The mental stress and frustration of dealing with these issues daily, especially seeing elderly parents struggle, is something no family should endure.
I'm sharing this not out of spite, but out of genuine concern for families who might make the same costly mistake we did. A home is likely the biggest investment you'll make – make sure it's with developers who value your trust and deliver on their promises.
Would I recommend TVS Emerald Aaranya? Absolutely not. There are far better options available in Chennai's real estate market where your investment will actually translate into the quality of life you deserve.
This is my personal experience as a resident. I encourage all potential buyers to do thorough due diligence before making any investment decision.
