Hi, U have written just about the right things without going detail on the specs and other techno-jargons. Even I opine that its a very good car/UAV(As ford calls it) in the right price band for the goodies packed into it. -Rajesh

Hi, You have covered just about the right things one should note rather than the unnecessary detailing on specs, power, etc., Even I opine that its a real good car/UAV(as ford calls it) at that price for all the goodies packed in. Haven't driven one though. -Rajesh

Every one of us have a view/opinion....and I believe in giving out unbiased praises and criticisms. First of all am not a pulsar fan(though i own one) and u will know this from my review on pulsar 'okie-dokie'. To honour the comments of those who have been hurt with my -ve observations on this bik...e, am planning to take another test ride shortly at another showroom. This will confirm/clarify my observations. However, I welcome frankness and MS in one such place to find a lot of it. PS: TVS lovers can find some respite in my review on Scooty PEP.Read More

I have put my reviews after a test ride/first experience. I too agree that its too early to write anything great about a new product. However, the bike that I rode had come to the showroom that day and wud hv done maximum 10 test rides......it cant be in 'shambles' as one of u mentioned. Anyways,... lets wait and watch.Read More

My basis for going for pulsar 1. Unicorn's look, seating including pillion and the plastic parts shaking at the rear (am very particular about such things) decided it otherwise. I liked its engine. 2. TVS was a non contender from the beginning. Wud hv thought of Apache if it was available then.... 3. Beamer was left out due to its non-existence in the market. 4. Wud hv settled for a FAZER but for its low power with pillion. 5. The achiever was still on paper while I decided to buy a bike. Well, I wudnt hv bought it for sure (after seeing it). Pulsar was chosen for the following reasons. 1. Was very happy with the power delivered in 3rd, 4th and 5th gears. 2. Looks are definitely the best of the lot. 3. Seating was comfortable for both rider and pillion. 4. Budget allocated (not cost cutting) Reason for not taking the ES/mag wheel variant 1. It costs 7K extra in Bangalore (55.5 for KS without Saree Guard and Crash Guard and 62.5 for ES with SG/CG). The rates hvnt changed yet. I wud hv definitely gone for this if the diff was only 3K as mentioned by Sandeep. In fact, I wud hv bought the P180 itself which look stunning with those black mags as they cost another 3K more than the ES version of P150. Am not the racing kind and its correct that am a perfect city commuter. Then, the bike does need power in higher gears to make riding easy which is why I decided on the pulsar. The bottom line is - Pulsar seems to be the best bet among the competetion which is rather non-existent still. Honda should hv done more than just the mono-suspension for the Unicorn to take on the popular pulsar. I bought my bike in Aug 2005, which is the latest of DTSi (i guess) which u call it DTSiV2, with exhaustec and gas shocks. I have rode the earlier models ie., classic and the first DTSi and I agree that the initial pickup is far better in those.Read More

OK GUYZ, lets time out on this. When i write a review I dont regret about my decisions and instead, express my observations. If I have bought the bike knowing that its engine is not the smoothest, does not stop me from expressing it....right? The same holds good with say honda or hh bikes. I k...now they are better in certain aspects than pulsar. Then there is line to be drawn and the decision taken, which was in favor of the Pulsar. And my friend, I have also grown in the last 18 years (both physically and mentally). That makes my contention even stronger. The 2 wheeler segment has witnessed change, people prefer motorcycles to scooters today. However, we are still bound by things like fuel economy, cost of maintenance, investment and are ready to compromise on looks, performance and quality. Why are the Hondas, Suzukis and the Yamahas still talking about 100cc and 125cc bikes. Do I need to take another birth to see their powerful bikes in India? All these biggies have been in India for the last 20 years (approx) and whats that they have today. Suzuki is launching a 125cc bike (WOW...what an upgrade from their Ind-suzuki launched in the 80s.) and Yamaha's only bike that made a mark in India was the RX line-up. There are many other factors that delay or retrict such machines to become a reality in our country. I mean, imagine 1000cc bieks on our roads the way pulsar is seen. It might sound very ambitious...still, nothing wrong in DREAMING.Read More

I can see FIRE breathing out of the guys giving their comments. Well....taking all the points into consideration.....I still say that Pulsar is definitely not worth the HYPE it is getting. I have done enough 'homework' on other bikes as well including Unicorn, Fiero and Beamer. Every bike had it...s own 'plusses' and 'minuses'. If Bajaj can employ a very good R&D to develop DTSI and Exhaustec(FYI....hv read their FAQs much earlier), can they not take care of some minor glitches such as 'Transmission' or say 'Engine sound'. I would rather pay more for such enhancements than a silly self-start or mag wheel. The power transmission should come seamlessly along with smooth transmission and thats what gives the best performance. Things like 0-60 in <5 secs are for records only. And my friend, the diff is a good 7K which I personally felt was not worth it. Anyways, thats not the point. All am saying is....Bajaj should stand much higher than what others are giving. I dont see why they shd even have the stupid KS model. Make ES and Alloy as Std., Provide rear discs, digital meters, etc., as high end variants. Then, I shall really go all out to propogate that Pulsar (or whatever they call it) is a class product from an Indian Auto company. And for the information of all...this is not my FIRST bike (pls see my other review on maintaining bikes). I hv been riding 2 wheelers for the last 18 years and I understand the diffeerence b/w power and commuting bikes.Read More

FIAT cars are an absolute beauty to own and drive. They are far superior to the so called 'cheap maintenance' cars around. However, the availability of spares and the disgusting service is a BIG minus. I own an UNO which is mostly mistaken for a M800 equivalent and let me affirm..DONT EVEN COMPAR...E THEM. UNO is a CLASS ahead.Read More

Hi Mandar, Thanks for your inputs reg the vehicle. Am still at crossroads and dont want to jump in a haste. These inputs will be of definite help while deciding my bike. The very bad response to LML bikes with almost 'zero' sales of all their models in Bangalore is a major setback. Hope their r...e-structuring plans include some intelligent marketing efforts too.....
