Review Contd: Have you watched the movie- Rocket Singh- Salesman of the year? I did just last week, and have realized one thing the hard way, which it conveys beautifully...what is most important in buying any product is its after sales service support.. When all else is almost equal, it is not th...e extra frills like 'quick ice' or 'magic light' that matter- but a dedicated customer care and efficient service team, which Whirlpool, as a brand, fails at miserably!! If only I had more space I would have stuck to LG, the brand i can rely on [from 2 past experiences with my 6 yr old washing machine..not such an absolutely essential appliance as a fridge, but which was attended to within 2 hrs of lodging a complaint [not a tech prob at all, just clogging in the inlet/ outlet due to hard water].. Now, I have my fingers crossed with this whirlpool fridge, and as long as i have it, can only hope and pray that nothing major goes wrong with it, especially b/w 8pm n 8 am and around weekends and holidays!! or that Whirlpool, as a brand, realizes the importance of good customer support and works towards it Dear fellow consumers, don't burn your fingers as I did.. whenever possible, choose good customer support over a few frills/freebies, and earn peace of mind for life!! Had to go in for a new fridge as my steady and sturdy LG 285 ltr that had stood by me silently n efficiently through 3 house changes, was inadequate to support the needs of a growing family. and the Whirlpool 450L professional elite seemed to be the only fridge of its capacity to fit the availab...Read more

Contd from review After contacting the branch office again, I finally got a call from the service engineer late afternoon asking what the prob was. After narrating the story all over again, I asked him why it was malfunctioning after they had replaced the board. He replied that he was on leave ever ...since he took the MW to the service centre, and presumably, they had not changed the board, only 'checked' it and set right the 'loose contact' in the wiring. He would come over in 15 min and check it himself (he was supposedly only 4 km away) Minutes turned to hrs..finally ,I called him up again at 7 pm. Said he would come over next morning with a new panel and replace the malfunctioning one Morning turns to noon. I call him up. He says he never goes for site visits in the morning !!! He never said he would come in the morning!!. (I'm sure I didn't hear him wrong the last time) Now I know that I had been taken for a ride all along by this guy.And I wonder what else is in store!! He comes in the afternoon, without the new panel, all set to take the MW with him to the service centre This time I lose my cool totally and confront him with all the cock and bull stories that he had been telling all along He is red faced, says they wont give him the panel unless he gets the old one (Then why did he lie to me?) I call up the branch office and make him talk to the branch manager after telling him everything The branch manager okays the release of a new panel, without needing to submit the old one. Next day, he comes over and replaces the panel. Finally !! The prob he says was due to cokroaches !! and produces one single small, dead dessicated one in support. I know that's a lie too, 'coz this is a new building, with no insects yet, and with a regular pest control program in place The cokroach might have been planted by him/ or it might have found its way into the MW at the service centre or in the transport vehicle. It wudn't have survived here to cause damageRead More

Panasonic does have its presence in India and a cool website too.. But the email helpline is bogus.. draws no response/ acknowledgement .. The after sales service and support is in early infancy and disappointing and quite pathetic (outsourcing i suppose) unlike the other established brands like Sa...msung/ LG Also, as one user mentioned, the recipe book and menus are for SE Asian regions, quite useless for Indian users I had purchased NN- C784MF from Croma Mall [a Tata enterprise can't be called grey market i suppose] (found that it is strangely not mentioned in the list of authorised dealers for Panasonic, though every other big and small shop is) My Microwave developed a prob with circuit board 7 months after purchase, which was supposedly replaced and MW returned after 8 days (instead of 2-3 days as promised) after persitently calling and reminding. [The initial call was handled very unprofessionally, asking no details about model number/ warranty, wrtiting on her own that model no. not known, out of warranty] And now it is having exactly the same prob after exactly a week later, and Im waiting since 4 days for the service engineer to show up (even after daily reminders from me and false promises from them) Wonder what the job sheet will look like this time and what excuses they'll make!! And how long and how many times I'll have to suffer and pay a price for buying a big branded product with bill from a Tata enterprise Enough of Panasonic for me !! btw.. the website is www.panasonic.co.in Read More
