A nice spacious showroom to spend atleast half a day getting tempted and lured by their various products on display and sales -end of week, end of month, end of season, this or that festival, Bathroom week etc etc etc

I've had a good experience in their decorative lamps section. with an efficient, knowledgeable, helpful female in-charge

But  the experince with the furniture section quite unpleasant..

Had gone to purchase a Lexy Study table during the Ugadi offer, quoted in their newspaper ads to be priced at Rs.2.7k..(no* for any conditions apply)

When we went there, we were told it was 2.9k.The staff even showed us thier own price catalogue for the Ugadi offer. But added that they were giving a chair free with it ( a nice armless revolving adjustable chaircosting 900). Seemed hard to digest, but we believed them anyway.

The table finally came after 2 days later, in a packed state, with no free chair

Called them up. were directed from pole to post and were finally promised by one girl that the chair would be brought by the person who comes to assemble the table

The assembly guy came 2 days later after many calls, on a bicycle. with obviously no chair alongside. He knew nothing about all this, and just did his job of assembling the table

Again called up Hometown, again redirected and put on hold, the girl who promised us was not available. and nobody knew anything else. The customer support guy finally said they would refund us Rs 200. not as cash or cheque, but as credit for the next purchase(no mention of the promised chair this time- must have been a small cover -up lie on the part of the staff in the furniture section!)

Luckily, it was a small amount(I must have already spent almost an equivalent amount on the phone calls to them). And to think that we would spend that amount of money on conveyance to

get there and burn our fingers shopping at that place again!

The only lift in the basement is a service elevator. What about wheel chair access?

They've started giving parking tickets for Rs.50 at their basement parking which used to be free earlier

The guard said we could collect the amount back if we made a purchase.

(Aah. so window shopping also isn't free anymore)

When we showed him the purchase reciept, he stared blankly and said it has to be deducted from the billing amount and will not be refunded in the parking lot(when we had paid cash to him and the parking slip is meant to be left in the car in full view)

We had run out of patience and didnt want to wait any longer. so we just drove out of the place forfeiting the amount, and vowed never to go there again

Shop at Hometown only if you trust your luck or have a lot of patience.(and only products that dont't require delivery / assembly)

SHOP at YOUR OWN RISK!
