Some of the facts about Cartlane, ========================== - Their website says IGI or GIA certified diamonds. This is not true for diamond jewellery where diamonds in the ready made jewellery is certified by local lab which is not so reputed (So you guess?). Only loose diamonds have GIA or ...IGI certification (Same in reputed jewellery shops!!?). This information I got from Customer Care when I was trying to place an order for a pendent. Also in the product information page they do not mention that diamonds in the jewellery is certified by IGI or GIA, they only mention the 4C which is certified by the local authority. - They announce discount in Gold rate for gold coins. What I observed is that they announce discount when they know market rate for gold is going down (Nothing wrong in it) - They always mess up packing (In Weight or product what customer has ordered) (This is from the most of the reviews). Even though customer support is good, this shows their negligence and it is the headache of the customer to get return/refund. Because customer is ordering the high value products there is no excuse for this kind of negligence, faith of the customer decreases if repeated like this for many times. Suggestions, =========== - They can provide mock jewellery to the customer, So that customer can see how it looks in hand. If customer likes then they can purchase original - They must show size indication of the jewels, like comparing the jewels against size-of the finger or some object or they can show how big it is when some one place it on their hand (like in bluestone)Read More

In India there is no certification for gold (like diamond) where customer can verify online, BIS mark can be put by jeweller itself. One can verify it again from BIS testing lab by paying fee (I don’t know how to do it, any one who has experience in it can share their opinion) or one can verify from... cart-meter which is available in some of the reputed jeweller shops. Cartlane provides proper Invoice where in they mention gold purity BIS 916/995 and also BIS mark is clearly printed on the gold coin. Most of the local jewellers where I bought Gold say that BIS 916 gold but in Invoice they do not mention (This is issue where customer can not fight in consumer court, because they can argue they did not sold BIS gold). Since Cartlane provides proper invoice with the purity of the gold, One can re-certify the gold from BIS testing lab, If there is any mismatch one can fight in consumer court. Note: Cartlane now buy backs the gold coin, So customer can return the gold coin purchased according to the current rate of gold in the market. This shows their confidence in what they sell.Read More
