Sorry I didn't visit this website for long. Well@MadhuRao2408, if you are still coming here. This is my reply. How do i get this mileage. 1) The running of a/c in slow speed and idle time is totally avoided by me. Since a/c needs more rpm of engine. so only after the vehicle is in good running ...speed do i switch on a/c. 2) We stay 28 kms away from city and its mostly highways and i maintain a speed from 50 to 80 kms on the highways and reach top gear as soon as possible. 3) Gear change at exact timing. e.g. 1st gear till 10 km ph, 2nd till 20 km ph, 3rd till 30 kmph, 4rth till 40 kmph and 5th at around 45 to 50 km ph. This takes lots of practice. People throttle the accelerator a lot, like in 1st gear itself they'll reach 15 plus km ph and by 3rd 40 plus km ph. etc.. So changing gears very fast is also very important. 4) Avoiding keeping leg on clutch as much as possible. 5) Feather touch on accelerator. This means i've never throttled the car ever. 6) When I know you are going to stop in a distance, I will slow down without brakes. Avoiding breaks as much as possible. It will save the brakes also. 7) In traffic lights, if its more than 2 minutes i switch of the vehicle. 8) Servicing of vehicle at the right time and that too in showroom only. Hope these tips will be useful for you too to get mileage. I have few more which i will share if you are interested. Thanks and blessingsRead More

never compare this bike with other 125s ..when compared to 100ccs, this bike is far better in pickup and mileage...so i hope i've answered your doubt...

dear biswadip, why do you have to compare xcd with 125's, because you're just paying as much as you would for a 100 cc one... compared to 100ccs xcd is a far better one and really good for a daily trip of around 50 kms in city...with good average in speed and mileage...

wow great ...now one things for sure ...reviews are coming in and its pouring XCDs....so the 100cc bikes are gonna be history as they said it...never compare this with 125cc bikes ..but with 100cc ones becos ur paying only for a 100cc and ur getting a better one.....better mileage ...better pickup......when it comes to riding the bike and the comfort it gives you... all the negatives like small bike, ugly tank, wrong digital meter, small led brake light, no disc brake etc just vanishes... all the best...a bike 100 percent better than 100cc bikes..misunderstood by many... but enjoyed by few...soon will be enjoyed by manyRead More

Dear Mr.Ashok.... complains like no disc brake, no fifth gear, no speed more than 92kmph...etc ..when i read this I felt like that... because these are known facts that xcd is not a super bike but a basic commuter bike.... If it hurt you or even the reviewer( Mr. Chaudhry) ..then let me apologize an...d ask sorry for that...because I don't want to hurt anyones feelings.. take care.. As far as exhange is concerned... mmm.. I'm taking care of my bike like a baby.....daily wiping it...water washing it once in a week..smoothly using accelarator... no sudden brake.. avoiding clutch even at slow speed upto 18kmph in top gear .. I just like to glide smoothly in my XCD...and actually not even using the horn always..because I feel the person in my front will be disturbed.. so i'll use it only while overtaking a bus etc..and I could say more abt my maintenance of xcd......moreover I'm in hyderabd and ur in chennai... so even if we exchange nearly 5000rs each should be spent in RTO ...so I don't think thats practical.. as i wrote this comment i just read ur review and knew that you too are facing mileage problems etc.. I think for mileage hyderabad is setting a record... and even service people of bajaj from different places keep asking service engineers here how to set the tuning to get 70 plus... and in hyderabad I've not seen one XCD owner who got less than 70kmpl..( I used to stop people who own XCD and ask them these details) ... I also asked the service engineer how they did it .. and his reply was after the service the tuning should be done with help of some CO2 machine as recommended by bajaj..no manual tuning..they have certain parametres to follow it seems... I can't explain more cos i'm not a techie guy... any way all the best... keep in touchRead More

Hi rijo... great to hear from you...The vibration at 40 -45 is not just vibration... its actually a knocking kind of sound when the engine tries to achieve best mileage at that speed...i.e..40 -45kmph is the time your engine takes the least petrol intake (lean proportion of petrol and air mixture wh...en throttle is opened in this speed..this was told to me by one of the service engineer in the service centre) below and above that the proportion is different so you feel the speed and pickup....But one thing... if you can tolerate the knocking and maintain 40 -45 kmph you will get around 90kmperlitre mileage...But as you told its comfortable in speeds above this.. I’m really happy about this.. because my 3 friends have honda shine and vibration starts only after 50kmph..So i was really happy that I bought this bike... be’cos I always go above 50 to 70 kmph and manage to get 70plus mileage all the bestRead More

Hi Mr. Ashok and Mr. Mallik - hope u read my review too...I'm not at all a bajaj guy.. but I'm a satisfied Bajaj XCD owner... and I thank bajaj for designing such a nice bike.. mouthshut reviews itself say 80 percent recommend this bike... so only 20 percent dislike it... moreover I was trying to h...elp the reviewer to cope up with the bike now that he's got the bike...if he sells it he wont get anything good...and about the drag racing ...Unicorn is better..no doubt.... but my point was I reached 90kmph. and still got mileage of 64kmpl...while I drag raced with unicorn...because i check every litre of petrol in my bike..Read More

Hi, Mr.Ormaz..How can you say he is one of the rare people who is satisfied with XCD.. See I too am totally satisfied with my XCD ( pls read my review) In hyderabad I’ve never met an XCD owner who dislikes it..and no one who’s getting less than 70kmpl....more over mouthshut customer liking and recom...mendation itself is 80 percent now... that means only 20 percent dislike them.. and that too because their taste and choice was wrong.. Hi.. Anoop ..good to see ur review.. you are one of the person who’s understood the xcd ... The ride control switch is just a threshold switch which lets you feel a slight resistance in your hand almost after you reach just 20 percent of acceleration... (for that you have to give acceleration smoothly, then only you will feel it) do not exceed this acceleration if you want more mileage.. but you can actually cross this resistance easily when you want to overtake any vehicle...If your satisfied with your mileage don’t use ride control switch because you can go in decent speed... Then the vibration at 40 -45 is not just vibration... its actually a knocking kind of sound when the engine tries to achieve best mileage at that speed...i.e..40 -45kmph is the time your engine takes the least petrol intake (lean proportion of petrol and air mixture when throttle is opened in this speed) below and above that the proportion is different so you feel the speed and pickup....But one thing... if you can tolerate the knocking and maintain 40 -45 kmph you will get around 90kmperlitre mileage..( but I'm happy you get good mileage even while reaching 75 kmph.. I too ride the same way and get 70 plus kmpl always) afterall this is a technology bike .... and bike of the year ..all the best.. you can ask me anything about Xcd .. I may be able to help you...Read More

I FELT THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST BIKE YOU CAN GET FOR THE MONE...Y WITH REVOLUTIONARY ENGINE TECHNOLOGY WHICH ALWAYS GIVES ME ABOVE 70KMPL, WITH POWER TO SHOW OFF WHILE DRAG RACING..IT REACH REACHES 90KMPH SO FAST...AND FEATURES LIKE SELF START AND BATTERY OPERATED LIGHT..SO NICE IN THE NIGHT... WHEN I HAVE TO OVERTAKE IN THE NIGHT..I JUST FLICKER THE LIGHT AND EVEN CARS GIVE ME SIDE THINKING ANOTHER CAR IS PASSING BY... OH.. I’VE PASSED MY 5000th KMS WITHOUT ANY TROUBLE.. Hi, I'm really sorry for you... I think you’ve taken the wrong bike for your kind of riding.... I too have crossed 4700 kms and not faced a single problem.. the lowest milage i got .. that too when I went in 80 to 90 kmph drag racing with a unicorn was 64 kmpl... otherwise always 70 plus and a few ...times when i went in 40 plus kmph i got 93 plus kmpl.. it is a soft vehicle designed for soft people .... Your choice might be wrong.. thats all i can say.. now that u’ve taken this...only thing you can do is ride it smoothly.. all the complaints you’ve given here is like a small child complaining ( e.g.no disc brake, no fifth gear, speed only 92 etc etc.. are all known facts of xcd) and doesn’t dissaprove the bike’s performance..as for the mileage you might have to tune the vehicle.....If you have any clarifications ask me.. i may be able to help you thru mail...Read More

ANSWER TO sandeepfromajmer yes people say HH lasts thats right...for ten years? even Bajaj lasts, I've seen old boxers on road running perfectly...only thing is bajaj stops off the models and keep changing and upgrading...but HH still runs the same old models so we feel HH is better, but actually... bajaj bike owners might have a feeling the model they bought is no more produced, but they never have a feeling that bajaj cheated them. Because till now bajaj is the most maintenance free bikes... with fuel efficiency too...Read More

ANSWER TO idealarty.. IDEALARTY THE VEHICLE MIGHT LOOK SMALL FOR YOU...BUT IT PULLS LOTS OF LOAD,.. BECAUSE I DON'T FIND DIFFERENCE IN PICKUP WHEN I GO SINGLE OR WITH MY FAMILY... WIFE AND TWO KIDS.after all you are paying for 100c but getting 125cc with good mileage... if you have the budget .....the best choice for you may be Honda Unicorn.. it too gives a good average of 60kmpl+... its big too..Read More

ANSWER TO NUKE no it isn't as you said, the brakes are slightly hard ... but it stops exactly where you want it to... the actual problem is the spring that pulls the break pedal back which is tight ... after sometime it will become loose ..and thus easy for braking

REPLY FOR THUNDER 1986 Its clear XCD is a pure basic commuter bike, with mileage and comfort in mind, as i told you pickup and extra features are as bonus... But for people who want to show off in 125cc category ...there comes XCD Sprint..

Hi you should realise that though the name is same XCD is the mileage version and XCD Sprint is the power version of Bajaj 125 cc... No one can design a bike like the XCD a very good basic commuter bike... and XCD sprint may be another option for people who want to show off... Every bike has its own... pros and consRead More

Reply to veganman... Thanks, and yes .. great to hear from you. 1) As for me I love my XCD’s sound. Of course it is louder than 100cc bikes. And except for the knocking sound which you hear when the ride control switch is on ( as i mentioned in the review) I’ve not heard any loud sound or hum ...from engine / gearbox. 2) for the second question ... you have the answer.... you said...’’I took a test ride of the XCD and was impressed by its responsive engine and its ’easy to ride in the city’ characteristics.’’ this means that you liked the riding position, handling etc ... even though the bike looks small. ( the bike is designed in such a way that even though it looks small, when you sit on it to ride it , you feel your a king..., thats what I feel !!!!) So you are the one who should decide if you want it or not... As far as recommending the bike.... you should know that this bike is really smooth, very light and delicate.... so you can’t rough use it.. But if you ride it smoothly and maintain it periodically, it will REWARD YOU WITH A VERY COMFORTABLE RIDE with good mileage. I can bet on this... unlike the conventional rough and tough bikes that are on the road now ( don’t want to mention names) They might be rough and tough, but they are rough on you too, you ride them, your body aches, you pour petrol it goes only for 55 kms.. etc... etc... So its your take...Read More
