What I wanted in a tab that is practical for productivity all day (email, docs and other apps) and mobile entertainment at traveling times ( video viewing, games and battery life for long play)

Processor - 1 Ghz or above, RAM - 1 GB or above, Screen resolution - 1024*600 or above, Colors - 16 million, Battery - minimum 4000 mah or above, Touch Screen - Capacitive ( resistive is a no no)

There are a lot of tabs below 10K but none have battery life so its not good at time of travel in train or bus for long journeys. Video experience is poor in low cost tabs because of its resolution and colors. The playbook is slightly above 10K but its worth the price yes.

and wins in all these features stated above and gives me more for what I payed. So read on

Let me start with the plus points. Here its is The design - its really bold and beautiful,

The size - not too small and not too big, feels like a cute, handy personal diary in hand.

The touch experience - simply awesome. Capacitive so free flow touch experience.

The colors, clarity and brightness of the screen gives a wonderful viewing experience.

The virtual keyboard is very practical, very usable and intelligent too.

Very good collection of games, I especially love the GT Racing Academy, it's so real to drive through and with the cabin view you feel you are really driving a car. Great gaming with more free games.

A word about the power of playbook, it's fast and works without any lag.The audiovisual experience too is awesome with the speakers placed at the right place giving enough sound - better than some laptops, mainly when at home .

The battery life - for my kind of work, it comes to almost to two days. The calendar app now and then gives reminders, wifi connected downloads in office time (downloads can happen in standby mode), all emails received and read through email app all day with very nice new email alert, play some games or YouTube video viewing with family in the eve. And for my train trips which lasts for two days (day 1 - twelve noon to day 2 - four in the eve), I watched 3 full movies (with headphones on), played some games, took some photos and hd videos of scenic beauty while traveling, read some articles, browsed the Internet and it was alive for the whole trip.

Many more wonderful features like GPS, bluetooth Internet connection with any gprs mobile, android apps etc makes the playbook a very practical gadget for the fast and the highly productive generation.

Now the minus though ..not actually minus, but these things if had can enhance the playbook

A better camera with flash. - it is good only for outdoors ( but who will take a tab to snap pics)

The virtual keyboard should have a microphone icon too which will enable speech to text feature.

The web cam should work for Skype , Google chat, google plus hangout etc, and not just for playbook to playbook chat. ( now it works with imo chat client through the web browser)

Should have a chat client too just like the email ...

So these were the goods and the bads... but as I say always, here too the major part of it is good, really it can beat the ipad in many ways for the price... Please feel free to contact my mail or comment session for any further clarification regarding the playbook. Though I am not a blackberry boy, I just have a Sansui g40q 3g phone through which I connect the playbook for internet when i'm not on wifi, using bluetooth, yes, you don't need a blackberry phone to connect  playbook to internet its awesome.

With that said I'm closing my review for now.

Yours  Santhosham ( Happy Man)
