Wireless streaming (from PC to HT) doesn't seem to be that big a deal - AVRCP is a low-cost option. btw - i saw offers for this HTIB for 6k already. So don't be surprised how fast these features become mainstream.
as for setup, the setup DVD that i got cost around Rs.800 - with Phi...lips, bulk rates could be much cheaper. Definitely doable.

Its pretty good to know such service-oriented companies exist in our country especially. Pity they don't have a Bangalore presence. I have been trying to sign up - they don't accept MasterCard nor cheques nor online transfers!! So i can only wait till they improve the sign-up process.

Brutally honest, but slightly pessimistic overall - i'm holding on till Bharti DTH arrives. I agree with the tone in general but there are a few above average service providers and Bharti (atleast their telco group) probably counts among them. Hi Rohit,
Just curious on the audio aspect - do you get some surround sound effects the way you have connected your HT? Currently my analog cable seems to be giving mono-aural sound and kills the HT completely, making it a stereo system :-(
This will be one of the key reasons why i'm plann...ing to go to DTH.
btw - Good Review! I have wondered too why people who have good experiences dont write reviews!

Thanks for the mention about sound quality.
I have been thinking of going for DTH in the hope of getting a better audio experience. I have a Philips HT with Dolby Prologic II. Currently i have cable connection and all i get is Stereo output. Will going for DTH help improve this?

Does the price indicated by you include other components or just the Onkyo HT S580 components alone?
Also how do you rate the Bass effect? I went to their showroom recently for the same model - still wasn't completely blown away by the Bass effect (which takes up quite a bit of space!).
