Agreed 100%. Its far beyond despicable. These DD guys should be lynched. Hung by their toes and flogged to a painful death. That's how mad I am. The abominable crime of injecting slow death to genuine sports lovers across the nation day after sick day should not and cannot be forgiven. Miserable wre...tches. Plague on the nation. Can write pages on the goof ups but then whats the point?Read More

Hey im so sick and tired of all the feline hissin and spitting. If you've got so much time to go frothing around ranting and raving viciously for such meagre a cause ,please lend me some .Im quite hard pressed . And for the final time as far as BOYS is concerned its just another average entertain...er receiving unprecedented flak ,blown out of terrestrial proportions for no understandable reason at all -given the murky ,filthy , abhorrent state of todays society ...yeah its almost like as if the movie was responsible for all of that. P.S: Actually i did write a bit more but since there was a semblance of reason from u r side this probably will do. Moreover even if further healthy argument is possible ,its absolutely not quite worth it.Read More

Hey hey hey slow down a bit! As for the rest, i'll get back later. this NEEDS to be answered now. H - if not understood - was for failing to leave the hall atleast at the break if it had been THAT intolerably bad. Anyway, pls dont make this personal. 'Every statement with intended or un...intended reference to the author is purely directed towards the viewpoint on the movie and the movie alone. if assumed otherwise, it only reflects the underlying instability /insecurity of the psyche in question and has absolutely nothing to do with the mentioned comment on the review'. And yes, India IS a free country . If anybody thinks anybody else's comments are misleading he/she has every right to pronounce it thus. The author might as well have added to the review the following--- 'This is my point of view-if anybody dares to differ,i'm gonna get really hysterical.so shut up and get out.'Read More

Form the crux of the message. Infact the brilliance of Shankar lies in his not dilly-dallying with lengthy thirunthittom’ statements. The punch is packed in a single smashing song, which as should be, happens to be the most important number in the proceedings of the tale. Even a hard -core cr...iminal deserves a chance. Why not give a group of hormone bashed rowdy youngsters one to polish the edges off instead of toppling them over a cliff. Have a heart. Bout the lengthy monologues. That one is rejected with vehemence. Don’t think anybody at any point of time in the screenplay would’ve lost track of the proceedings. Have all the good gentlemen and ladies who have been severe critics thought bout it? Ever got bored at any point? Therein lies the man’s grip over his project. The racy screenplay, slick editing, crisp and crunchy dialogues make it a fair entertainer elevated to greater standards by the chanceless cymbals of the musical genius. His caliber is further expounded when compared with similar stuff by others. A few of my good friends on ms have spoken in length about the same. ( the one by skris is particularly good. pls refer ) As the review clouded with red, failed to see any of these positives, it is to be deemed extremely misleading even though excellent language and scholarly vocabulary may have influenced ppl into agreement. Watch the movie minus the surrounding ‘chee’ effect, shut out the obscenities (worth a mere 10 minutes or so of reel) and try it with a different perspective, different company and a neutral mindset. It’ll be rather good after all. Will look for more from u. Regards (and pls do not take any offence) P PS: it could be a gal thing but heard from a reliable source that a batch full of femmes from the Anna univ. loved the film. The uncensored one. Read More

sparkling fresh concoction, but among the ones in similar genre, this one stands up to get noticed and absolutely not like a sore thumb as seems to be the suggestion. As far as the allegations pertaining to the meteoritic rise to stardom; there are umpteen number of popular boy bands (back street... boys, boy zone, west life, nsync, 98* -to name a few) who have through sheer talent come up tops from scratch, inspiring the director into the storyline and the title no doubt. (Didn’t britney spears drive the world crazy with her first single?) Anyway how much can u fit into a 3 hr interval? We are not talking bout a hypnotic drowsy mega serial here are we? Shankar has no dent whatsoever on his claim to fame on that account. …..And the fact that such an oft-repeated insipid storyline has been shunted onto such an engrossing track speaks for itself. Not as if it was abrupt either. People who had watched the movie without a weight of expectation and/or a highly charged passionate bias will acknowledge the essence of what is meant. And bout their lack of experience and such things – please. If all genius works of art were from long years of experience, the planet would’ve been a pretty dry place. More number of earth moving achievements has been thro genius brainwaves than thro prolonged decades of slogging. The author’s highly-strung words were merely from a mental block, which goes like this. -’How the hell can such porrikkees (ruffians) be of any good in anything at all?’ Shankar answers that (not that it needs any) with a Philipoussis down the middler, if the high and mighty care for the lyrics of ‘sare gamae’ (the whole movie and its theme in a nutshell). The lines from ‘ kuttichuvar yaeri ………mistakes are the secret of………..to be a star …….never ,never give it up……….imsaiyelae vandha isai……..naermaithaan vetriyin …Read More

Rambling on as if prevented from leaving the movie hall by an unseen force as reel after bullshit reel grated those poetic nerves, smells strongly of the H word. H- noun (disapproving) behavior in which subject pretends to have moral standards or opinions that they do not actually have. Beg p...ardon. Couldn’t quite resist that. Hear ye this ppl. Vulgarities/obscenities with mere masks of apt expression, music and humor are fun and warm the cockles. (Message rushed to shankar-you can stop wondering what went wrong man.) Case: Jim Carrey’s ‘Me, Myself, Irene’ The fellow has no dearth of hilarious expressions, the music –typical western comedy track, the humor seemingly unparalled. Carey notices (ogles is more like it) a mom breast-feeding STOP xxxxxxxxx STOP. Gleefully grins away with an upper lip smeared with…. Guess what? Theatre rocks No claims for ban. Movie- healthy run at the box office Well whatddaya know? No thundering revus. Top class sensuality .Rip roaring. A speck of an instance from hoards of such fun filled dramatics. Any down to earth sensible person would find only the groping around business and the nude histrionics objectionable. Downright nauseating stuff. The director is strongly condemned on that account. All the other ‘unpardonable’ scenes are just ‘A’ category fun.(if one doesnt gel with these after round bout the 18th year on the planet,i can only shrug the shoulders and quip 'cmon kiddo, grow up!'). A la Englishy style. Ruminate a bit, translate the rest and think bout it like on a Yankee hilarious flick and presto, what a laugh…oh my! How I hate the attitude. Just because a few parts of it were made with a mentality reminiscent of the one prevalent in the stone ages, lambasting the whole movie with carried over emotions is certainly not acceptable and in fact is quite misleading. I do agree that the storyline is no sparkRead More

hiya guys thanx a mil for the comments.and for the warm welcome.this is just my second review .wrote one for kaakha kaakha but posted it elsewhere. first things first- beg pardon for hurting sentiments.btw rama u r review was pretty pro.me just freelancing now and then .so excuse for the amateurish...ness. i do agree with the passion thing but here are my reasons 1.watched the edited version 2.missed the first song 3.you misunderstood the bit bout the comparison with friends etc.im not trying to justify boys .only asking whether the tempo of outrage against it is/was necessary at all.well let me give u another one.there was an edition of 'everybody loves raymond' on prime time in which the wife stuffs a pair of soxs into her bosom and jingles round the house trying to judge her hubby's 'interests'.well it was 30 mins of thrasing on bout a womans sensitive anatomy and i suppose u heard bout it- the best comedy flick of the year award went to ....hmmm cool.and was there any representation to the union broadcasting minister from the 'long live females' groups in protest....did u hear of any?i sure didnt.there are umpteen other such that i can reel out. why the stepmotherly treatment to boys alone? to the extent for court cases and bans against the film?isnt that carrying it a bit too far?. so mate the passion was more like against the unfair protests singling out a particlar section of media for tirades rather than the interest i had in the movie or in shankars direction. one more thing ....im not sure why u were looking out for a message.are movies these days supposed to carry messages and morals?well as far as im concerned a slam bam thank u ma'am is good enough for a time pass.we do get good ones from time to time like anbe sivam ...lets make the most of those. take care and keep penning paari.
