That was when we were all fully loaded with expectations...Even Rajni said that such hereculean expectations from the audience worried him...I dunno why, I had dreams of Sivaji turning out into a horror some six months bef...ore the release...However when I discarded the names of Rajni, Shankar, ARR, KV and others and watched it for the fourth time, it was great cinematic viewing for pleasure...Only when I watched without expectations or the big names, I could enjoy some great subtelities in the movie...I watched it 12 times in as many theathres in Coimbatore...Read More

Sivaji - The Boss Movie

Hi Ajayan Na (Hope you havent forgotten me) I was really enthused by the subject na - Black Money, Money Laundering, Commission Pricing. It is really a subject that has to be touched upon by someone in Tamil Cinema. Murugadoss touched a bit on Commission Pricing in Ramana (when the Auto Driver ...explains his reasonable charging to the girl outside the temple). I thought Shankar who could narrate such stories with richness let us of here. I watched it twice na...It seemed to have all the grandeur a Shankar movie promises, but his plot seemed to run haywire...And as far as Rajni fans are concerned, they seldom complain and are only happy with his new looks and actions...My take is here na, : www.blogcharm.com/reavan As for V for Vendetta, it is a good and gore movie na...It is watchable and can be called the Indian Cinema essence suited to Hollywood. The Vidya Balan plot has a huge significance. When Abhi visits Maddya house and meets Vidya and when Madhavan sums it al saying ;'None of us is going to change' - I would have never sacrificed that part... I dont think it did not have emotional touces. He dreams big and realizes big. He knows the pulse of the audience. He knows how to best promote his movie. And most importantly, he wants to take this industry to a new level. Hats off to Shankar(the producer). But for him, I don’t think stories like those of Kaadhal, Imsai Arasan and Veyil would h...ave surfaced. I would like to conclude what the normally modest Shankar said about Veyil “If the film was released in some other foreign language, they would have applauded this as an exempelary world cinema. Veyyil Movie

Apart from the heat, Veyil has thrown light on some people. The high five are Pasupathy, Bharath, G.V.Prakash,Mathi and Vasanthabalan. Pasupathy is mind blowing. He is on a route that only two doyens of Tamil cinema have crossed successfully - From the most feared villain to the most loved hero. Raj...nikanth and Sathayraj are two unique products of Tamil Cinema. They started as fearsome villains who could easily grab notice. Their flair for comedy took them into light hearted roles and they started winning hearts. Subsequently, they were able to prove their mettle as heroes with versatile roles. Pasupathy does the same. After a carving a niche for himself in negative roles, he captured the attention of one and all with comic performances in Mumbai Xpress and Maja. The transistion to the main character could not have come at a better time. Good Job. Bharath does a good job. He always clicks for Shankar and if he is not the sole hero. It has been the perfect ending to a dream year for him(Of course,if he forgets Chennai Kadhal). GV Prakash would have definitely done his uncle a r rahman proud with his debut. Let us wait atleast for his second movie before we dub him as the second genius from the rahman family. Be it the opening scene or the captivating climax which he captures in the dark or the entire scenes in between which he shows in broad daylight, Mathi has used the lights of Veyil to get into the limelight. Vasanthabalan has said this movie was inspired by his own failures in life. For everyone who has been fazed by failures, the pain is easily evident. Apart from his own inspiration, it was his perspiration that has made Veyil what it is. He has definitely emerged out of the dark with Veyil. He dreams big and realizes big.
