The box office has declared a ne...w hit: Don. Farhan Akhtar’s film has grossed almost Rs 44,47,00,000 in its three-week run, winning special accolades from the cine-goers in Kolkata and Hyderabad. And it’s easy to fathom the reasons behind the film’s success. The film somehow hadn’t found favour with the critics because the critics had treated it merely as a remake and had measured it against the yardstick set by the original in 1978. The post-80s generation is however viewing it as just another film from New Age Bollywood. For those who have no memories of a certain Mr Bachchan chewing the Banarasi paan with characteristic pizzazz, King Khan is the kewlest baddie on the block. Performance-wise, this remains one of Shah Rukh’s most nuanced portrayals, where evil has no apologies and mean is truly mean. And for this we-make-no-comparisons cine... ... janata, the new Don offers nothing to complain about. No nostalgic whinings about the Bachchan baritone or the Helen hip job. Just a ‘wah’ and a ‘wow’ for Shah Rukh Khan’s brute bestiality, Boman Irani’s cold menace and Priyanka Chopra’s Matrix manoeuvres. More importantly, GenTech just can’t get enough of the stylish film noir. With its fastpaced action and its monochrome palette of colours, the film brings slick Hollywood closer to Bollywood than you’d expect. Vignettes of The Matrix, Fast and Furious, Terminal Velocity flit through your mind as you watch the Don outsmart his enemies. In terms of its structure, the new Don is truly New Age cinema.

Don and Kabhi Alvida na kehna flop? ha ha can not laugh at your stupidity .You might have hated these movies but both are big time hits .
Don is on its way to become a 50 crore grosser within a three weeks and still running.
