A View: From Fan to Critic. Review on Shah Rukh Khan

I used to wait for his serial, Fauji. The cadet who fall on colonel's daughter from sky while doing practice of paragliding..and falls in love. Then came circus..a world of lovely people working in a circus, whose manager was a vibrant and kind hearted man.

All sudden one hears that a movie Deewana has been released and the fauji guy has done great job in it. An full energy lover who falls in love with a widow and sings energetic number "Koi na Koi Chahiye"..whose energy enthusiased you to sing the same before the girl for which you had crush in your school. I too did so! But then comes Dil Ashna hai, which bombed. but I liked the benevolent Shahrukh in it. Then came Chamatkar...I enjoyed this innocent an saving his chaddi in an all girld occupied trip and play with ghost. This man was full of exuberence, energy and breeze of youth.

Watching all his movies at tht time gave mood fresh, becuase he was not like other actors doing movies like Aag hi Aag, Khatron ke Khiladi, Rakhwala, Jehreele, Paanch Paapi, Gola Barood, Sangram, Rang, Veergati, Taarzan, Lal Dupata Malmal ka, Khatarnaak, Bomb Blast, Ashiq Awara, Loha, Indrajeet, Pyasa Shitaan, Platform, Balwaan, Dil ka Kya kasoor, awwal number, prem kaidi etc etc many unforgettable movies!

The time when he entered indian cinema, it was the worst phase through which hindi cinema was passing with all poor quality movies in which only mafia money were pumped. Amitabh Bachchan was on hibernation and when he returned back he met with the crisis of age, hibernation and poor condition of industry resulting into movies like jaadugar, indrajeet, laal badshaan..all such movie except few. The hindi cinema world of 90's was stinking like anything.

The best part of Shahrukh has been his choice of moviesand songs in them..which made him. Baazigar and Darr gave him instant popularity and then come DDLJ...a never to say die optimistic energetic lover. And this was the pinackle of Shahrukh Khan...where he gave big hits within 2 years, followed by Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and DTPH. He was all an all romantic hero.

i remained his ardent fan like many who are still today, upto this time. And being an ardent fan I did not miss his other movies too which I did not discuss upto this time. Guddu, English babu Desi Mem, Trimutri, Maya Mem Saheb, Oh Darling, ...I will discuss of them later. But these movies had too started working over my mind, disclosing the truth of this star(not actor) slowly and slowly. He got great chances to perform and show the world that he is not just limited to lover boy role, and he terribly missed the platform with great movies like Hey Ram, Dil Se , Swades.

In following comes his over boastful interview stating that he is best..all the times..making me feel that this guy is either over confident or underconfident. Due to his incapacity to see himself and fathom and improve himself , he started declining. Shahrukh forget to evaluate his own carrier and mistakenly got in flow of praisworthy media, which made him star and the praise which his brain could not digest and mistaken himself as an accomplished actor .

Those grinning, goat laugh, twisted eyebrows, sweat and blood coming from the mouth in the last sceen, first looked great in Baazigar Darr..but then it became monotonous and same in all. Same dialgoue delivery when you propose to a girl or pamper your mom, talk to your friend and talk to president, write a letter to your love or host a media program.

A hero is rated by his popularity, his box office success and critical acclaim for his performance.

To this date, Shahrukh has been here just due to single one..that is popularity, which he knows very well how to gain. He gives fanatic interviews, tries his best to remain witty and well dressed gentleman which he is absolutely, and ride over his previous success with great marketting brain.

Regarding his acting capabilities, who else can tell better than his own mentor, John Barrymore."Shahrukh is not a good actor but Manoj is." The man who developed both: Manoj Bajpai and SRK together. Manoj got 3 national awards. (Shool, Satya and Pinjar) and Sharukh got all media brokaged filmfare awards only. A national award utpo that time was considered as the biggest acknowledgement..and it was really tough for any actor to get it/. But what was Shahrukh..all film fare awards which one gets on popularity ( and that too engineered one).

SRK box office success: When you will open the official box office site, ibos, you will not ind SRK even in top 10 all time grosser. There the actors have been ranked on the basis of theri box office valuation, the profit an actor gave to industry. Is not this shocking for all of us here, that this man who keeps on saying I am the king or whatever has got actual truth that he is nothing! Abolutely a poor hyped actor and star with lesser return value at box office. Akshay Kumar has delivered more hits than Shahrukh Khan. Also unlike other superstars Shahrukh has never enjoyed completely successful consecutive hits except 1 year. And coming to the biggest fact that he has delivered more flops than hits and this is why he appears in just limited moviemakers product becuase most of the directors dont want to take him.
