amit180 i agree. Then again, as an indian customer i am buying a 13 lakh car for a solid 5-8 years of use. without proper service and maintainance, the vehicle will be useless. more importantly i should write the review here as a person looking to buy a car will read this section alone.

Not a review. And not usefull for 99.99% of the people using the car. Emergency exit is usefull only after 6 airbags have been deployed. Mybe 100 cases all over india ever. Maybe even less. So tell us about the rest of the car... PLEASE!

i20 petrol lacks power but everything else. I mean EVERYTHING from space to luxury and comfort are perfect. Diesel negates the power lag. Duster is an excellent vehicle. It has pep, it has manuverability and it has that wow factor. Perfect 2 wheel drive (i can't really call it an SUV). Bad roads are... nothing. No roads aint a serious problem either. Engine is damn good. Noise isolation is a bit poor but that is to be expected. I would still recommend any model other than the high end with its ugly mirrir and handle paints and weird ac at back. If u r looking at top end, start looking at XUV500 instead else it is a bang for the buck
On the service end it is sad that they are outsourcing services to other parties. As Bestreview said, too ambitious and ill prepared. Customers matter. I hope that clears it up.

elantra: almost bought this one. but too costly. had to let it go
sx4: akward back and jumps on uneven road sections. else pretty powerful
fortuner: way way out of my price bracket but one can dream no? :-D

The tvm dealer got into a lot of trouble because of this i guess. I had mailed to the head office in America as well. They came to my house and expressed sincere apologies. I mailed another letter stating the same to head office. I suspect it was just a gimmic to get their name cleared but atleast n...ow they will know that indian customers are not 'chaltha hai' type of people any more!Read More

in second huh? well that properly defines it... no car in my knowledge can keep 60kmph without accel for minutes. A
And please dont compare i20, city etc to cars like 800, ambassador etc... They are old, gold and leagues ahead. I do stuff with maruthi 800 that i cant dare imagine with a Duster or... even Cruze... As far as i know, 800 is the only car which is elegant and stunning even after say, 8-10 years. (Older model cars not counted)Read More

You can install a separate sensor which would give you these. Plastics are cheap... Esp for the price at hand... Clutch, hmm i didn't find it so... And 4x4? Indian roads? No way dude... If you are planning to go on snowy roads or do true offroading, 4x4 is a strict no no.... What use is a real SUV i...n india? That is why base variants of XUV and models like duster fly off shelves while yeti struggles.!Read More

Is it an isolated incident? How do we trust the company if it behaves like this...? Then again a particular branch may be to blame. You should get in touch with the higher level management or file a case in consumer court.,... it is a fairly straightforward matter...

Sir... Lowest variant has lack of safety features. Then again a foreign company offering a so and so SUV at 10 lakh is a big deal. Deal with it.
At 11.76 lakh on road you are looking at dual air bags, seat belt, abs, ebs, and the sheer volume of raw metal protection it offers. Base model of XUV whi...ch is miles ahead in protection and includes all above said is at 13.35L on road.Read More

Thankyou for the pointers. But can I state a few obvious facts....
1. Acceleration of course peaks in the performance RPM which is 2k-4k for your car. Hence startup can be sluggish. But 85bhp variant has an almost linear acc
2. The car is cheaply made and the price for highest end is 13.3...6 with full leather. Indian manufacturers are cheaper only in price, M&M have reengineered most features in XUV. I have full repect.
3. Hands free takes some getting used to but becomes comfy and better even in a few months time. Try using it and u will see
4. No suspension or door noise in my model... Then again u said almost every duster so maybe i am lucky.
5. XUV is a superior vehicle. I had to buy a duster as my mom who is 4 ft 10 in finds it incredibly comfortable while xuv she can't reach the acc pedal. Height adjust is very good in XUV though.
No offence. And yes, you should have a) gone for XUV b) (i cant get a 2m wide car) go for ecosport.

Well. Vehicle replacement and call backs are not practiced in india. They should be but that is another topic. Here, you say that the trouble was attended next morning itself and the person concerned also offered an apology. You should really try out wolksvagen etc... Traffic data is private. And difficult to get. So how did you manage that? I have heard better sales pitch from money chain guys...
The reviews in this site are all along the same line if positive. Then again, if i am making lakhs of fraud money, i would also hire a few people to boost my site in... famous review sites like mouthshut wouldn't I? And if these people have genuinely won something, they would be trying to keep the traffic in the site low for better chances.
