Everyone forget about their Japanese cars. Suzuki, Honda and Toyota are superior cars and people mess them up. I own Toyota Corolla and Suzuki Alto and there is no repair on the engine. So every six months or 6000 kms I change the engine oil and filters and every time I open the wheels and check for... brake pads and if needed I will get the pads and rotors from spares shop and change it to the nearest unbranded (known mechanic) to fix it. These cars are sturdy and they are designed to run for long mileage, the only parts we need to focus is on wear and tear parts and tire rotation and basic maintenance which needs to be replaced / done on our supervision only, if not need to face the consequences.Read More

I own Toyota Corolla and I had SX4 earlier and I felt Corolla is better than SX4. Especially on mileage and power part.

Even I too own both the cars. Santro and Alto are different segments. Alto is a basic car which has all the base features. Especialy good mileage and zig zag in the trafic. Santro is good in comfortable in terms of luxury, and well fitted and smoothness. After my driving, I personally say i...f you dont care about the small difference of mileage, cost then go for Santro. If you are worried about the these, then go for Alto.Read More

Even I have also owned M Alto July 2005, I still have the problem in the rear door while closing and opening the sound is coming. Service people have tried out with something but nothing got rectified. The second is head light is poor - I am not able to drive in night as the high beam is not good,... lot of times went to service station but of no use. When I switch on the AC a rattling noise comes and disappears. Initially I have got 24KMPL but now 18 ~ 20 KMPL on highways even I have driven in max of 90 KMPH. Nothing has been fixed. My father has Santro - amazing and wounderfull vechile I have never seen in my life. Roughly Santro gives 20 ~ 22 KMPL in highways. I love Santro.Read More

Hi Amitsvyadav, You are correct in your statement, but Bajaj doesnt have good QC (quality check) team. So some of the vechiles are getting good settings and some are bad. We have got the bad ones .....! See there are some quality check parameters defined. Only if it reaches the parameters, th...en it should have fit in the vechile otherwise it should have rejected, not accepted at any conditions, but bajaj never declines the defective one and fits it, the sufferer is the user - all this is because do the cost.Read More

Hi mominriaz, This is a really good technical review and I would like to upgrade my Splendour + to 150 CC bikes, but lot of people have said Pulsar is far better in all aspective and good mileage. But I had taken Pulsar a test drive, and didnt like the design of petrol tank, I feel someone is si...tting in front of me and one more is I really feel the jerk in the rear wheel in the lower speeds, I am afraid that the rear wheel gets out of the chasis, I have tried this in 3 ~ 4 Pulsar. Not have a test drive in Xtreme. I have driven the CBZ before a year for a week as it was my friends one. It was really beautiful (acceleration is amazing, style the design and comfort) are really good. But when comes to mileage, my Hyundai Santro and CBZ are almost same with a small difference of 4 wheels and 2 wheels. Can you please clarify this? I have an another option of Unicorn.Read More

Hi, I own Santro Xing XL, just one year above and have covered about 7000 Kms, I have no problem in driving this vechile for a long distance. The engine is fine and everything is good. But one big hug drawback, this vechile is good in plain roads and not in hills. Be careful while driving in hair-...pin bend and curvy roads. speed do not cross more than 80kmph if you need a good mileage, my vechile gets 21-22kmpl if I go with 80Kmph. I had faced a little bit trouble in Sathyamangalam, Dimbam till Nangengud.(karnataka and Tamil Nadu borders). Wishing you a happy and Safe Driving.Read More

Hi Rahul, Upto some extent you are correct. In the high end cards from Hyundai (Accent, Elantra, ......) Honda is much more beautiful and talented engines and good in design, compactness. I accept this point. But when coming to Santro, from the old version to the new version of Santro, they ...are improving a lot. They are really good competiteors of Maruti, sometimes Hyundai Santro is far better than Maruti, this is truth need to accept. I own Maruti Alto and my father is having Santro Xing XL, the Santro is a good deliver with 1086CC it competites with Alto to give 22Km in Highways, as my Alto the highest mileage is 24Km in Highway. Still Santro stands ahead coz, with powerful engine giving good mileage is execellent. Far better than Maruti product, better interior, better body(toughness) and good engine. The only cons: I have faced with Santro is - in hills my Santro cannot beat my Alto in Hills. Alto is hill king, I can turn my Alto in a hair pin bend at 40-50Kmph with out brakes. Stupid Santro cannot go more than 20Kmph in hair pin bends, as they may have possible for tilting like Maruti Omni. But I dont want to bet Santro will not tilt, but the action make terrible the people who sits inside. Tying these thing can impact human lifes .... it is serious.Read More

Hi Srini, Thanks for your reply. One or the other time the Mortein cake(4-5 cakes) has been killed one or two rats. As one of my street member has suggested me to a mechanic. A steel flexible pipe is been covered with wires and some part of the plastics, so no upto some extent it has been protect...ed. You know the Split A/c in your home, the wires are covered by a plastic sleeve, the same kind with Steel Sleeve rather than the plastic. The mechanic charges about 3k for doing this. Cheers !!!!
