I am in Bangalore (Malleswaram) and was using a private gas till this date. The first cylinder that I got lasted for > 1yr !! (more than a year). That might be because, I am single and usage is less. 1 month back, I applied for a ration card and I got it today (23rd Feb 2008). I had applied at th...e north zone Food and civil supplies (Malleswaram). The officials are co-operative and I got the ration card without paying any extra. You need to pay Rs.45, and thats what I paid and got the ration card. Straight, after that, I went to the HP-gas agency (govt connection). The procedure there is -- 2 photocopy of ration card, 2 passport size photo, Rs4100 and pay extra for cylinder. The amount of Rs.4100 is for regulator, tube, 2 burner stove and intial payment. %0d%0aHope this info helps someone.Read More
