After getting my ration card, I was eligible for applying a govt gas connection. This morning, I enquired Indane and HP gas dealers and following are the figures that I got from them: -
INDANE -
2 xerox of ratio card.
No need of pass port photo.
Rs. 850 - Deposit for 1 cylinder.
Rs. 100 - Regulator.
Rs.180 - Tube.
Rs.90 - Lighter.
Rs.370 - For refilling of cylinder
Rs. 50 - Admin and issue of consumer book.
Rs.1500 - For 2 burner stove(differnt models are available).

They will NOT issue more than 1 cylinder. Delivery time is 1 week.
HP -

Rs. 1700 - Deposit for 2 cylinder.
Rs. 100 - Regulator.

Rs. 125 - Admin and issue of consumer book.
Rs. 50 - Sv charges.
Rs.1850 - For 2 burner stove(Sunflame).
Rs.640 - For refilling of 2 cylinders.
