Whenever you think about LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas) Connection (Cooking Gas in India), the only names that pop up are Indane, Bharat Gas and may be HP-Hindustan Petroleum. It won't come to me as a surprise if lot many of you have never heard of them. When I shifted to Hyderabad, in 2005, I had to look for a Gas Connection. Then I realised its not going to be as simple as I thought. To search for a Gas agency nearby and get all the required documents was only the begining, then I got the great news that there is a waiting of 3 months. If u apply today, u may get a connection after 3 months. I could not believe this, 3 months !!!! What will I do till then.
One of my friend from Bangalore suggested that there are some private gas agencies as well. That caught my interest, after days of searching on Internet, I could find nothing. Even local colleagues could not be of much help and finally I gave up. Then I came across an auto-rickshaw carrying LPG Cylinders with Super Gas painted on them. I got re-nergised by that sight and first thing I did after logging into my computer was to search for Super Gas on Google. Voila, I found the URL and contact numbers as well. I called up at Customer Service and a lady provided me all information politely and patiently. I came to know I had to pay 1800 Rs and for that 700 was Cylinder Security, 560 for Filled Gas in that Cylinder, 150 for Regulator and 90 for Gas Tube. I asked for the documents required and I was astonished when she said they don't require ANY document. I asked how long will I have to wait, she said its instantaneous, pay the money and take the cylinder. I could not believe it, I asked how long do u take to refill the cylinder, she replied ''24 hrs''.
With no paperwork, instant connection, 24 hrs delivery time, I won't mind paying 560 which is I guess almost double the price of Govt Gas Agencies like Indane. Yes I would go for it because I do not want to wait 3 months to get a Gas Connection, because I do not want to wait for 15 days for a refill, because I do not want that hassle to put in all documents required. I agree its expensive but it provides you value for what you pay extra. If you are a bachelor like me and have less usage, go for it. But if you have a big family, have heavy gas usage, I would suggest you to try for a Govt Gas Agency and avail this facility for that waiting period of 3 months !!!!

There have been some changes since I wrote this review. One of them is that with Govt Gas Agencies now you need to have a Ration Card to apply for an LPG Connection . Second waiting time has shot up to almost 6 months. Third, I got to know that Super Gas is available in Bangalore as well though the website supergas.com does not mention that. It only mentions Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
I am using services from Super Gas for almost an year now and I am completely satisfied. Recently, they have raised the connection charges, but just by 25 Rs. So new connection will cost you 1825 Rs including a filled cylinder , regulator and tube. They are also providing two type of cylinders - one I guess is around 12 Kg while the other one is 17 Kg. If you wish to go for a 17 Kg cylinder you may have to pay more than 1825.
I felt that all this information would become more valuable if I put in contact information as well. So here it goes.

I got to know that Super Gas is now available in Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. Visit this link below and the website for more information. Also, I got to know that few people tried to locate Super Gas in Bangalore but they were not successful.
