Dear Neeraj kapoor, Even if it is 60 K costlier, go for Wagon R with K Series Engine. I have handled both the vehicles and when the question of performance or service is concerned, any day Maruthi is better. GM or its dealers are not too friendly. The perfomance of Beat on a hgh way is also not... so great. The novelty wears off very fast. Read More

Ask your dealer to change to Exide battery. Second, always swith on the AC only when you reach a minimum speed of 30 kmph. If you try to switch on AC at lower speed, the compressor draws electricity from battery instead of dynamo. Also confirm if you get lots of power problem in night time or day ti...me. in night time, the headlamps also draw power from battery through alternator. Many of my friends have reported problems in night only. In such a case you need to check the output amphere strenght in alternator. Problem lies either in alternator or battery. Try Chinnalingappa near IOC petrol pump in Old madras road (after you cross a mandhir bang in the middle of the road). This mechanic gives practical solutions for alternator problems and has worked in Tata engines.Read More

There are two setting points in Alternator. One gives low amount of current to spark plugs resulting in poor quality of firing. Change the setting to medium. This will improve milege. Also check the tighness of Air inflow value. Factory setting is it allows little Air to petrox mix ratio. Changing t...he valve setting will improve milegeRead More

A word to Roys2000 and Jamy, Any new car will perform good for some time. So will be your views in a new Nano. If you like the quality of plastic in Nano, so be happy. It may also mean that Tatas have seriously taken the complaints and developed better interior solutions. The quality of interio...r (especially plastic) has registerd the highest repeats on Tata dealerships. I also recall reading a news that Tatas are calling back first three batches of Nanos for upgradation and retro fitting. As regards my point no. 11, I stand by my word that this car is not meant for travelling executives or people who work on the move. Try opening two laptops on the back (heaven sake go for standard laptops and dont go for Sony minis or tablet PCs) and you will know. I stand by my views that back seat space is inadequate for putting four laptops else open it and work. However if you are comfortable in putting the laptops under your foot, well then i think its your own decision and not mine. Two of my friends who are Field executives in Hindustan Uni leavers (handling Nalagonda territory) have sold the Nano and taken a Ford Figo because of lack of space to carry their field material or laptops as they spend more time on the dealer outlet points. They have a big list of dis-advantages with the car. Few people like to keep the cars spic and shiny and few others use the car for their work and livelihood. In both the case the purpose and utilisation differs. My simple observation is that this car is meant for light/medium use and not heavy use. I dont know under which category of usage you fall. Hence cannot comment. My job demands lots of travel and driven enough on Nano continuously for last 3 months in various roads in Maharashtra, AP, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, and West Bengal/ Orrissa and am not personally happy and wont want to own a Nano as it does not meet my requirements either on riding quality or comfort.Read More

Hi would also add a word of caution. Few of my friends have experienced a swaying in this car in NH in speeds excess of 90 Kms. The brake to Stand still ratio is not good (vehicle comes to Stand still postion after 180-220 metres of braking). To acheive quick standstill, you can use rapid braking. (...i.e. brake - gap - brake - gap - brake - gap till you bring the vehicle to stand still, in rapid succession). This braking reduces the ratio drastically and should be used only in emergency. (Wear and tear is six times more than normal braking). It will take some time for Maruthi to improve the brake mechanism in this vehicle. In Eeco, the front hood is only cold fused welding joint to conventional front frame (like that of Omni) and without engine in front, it does not offer much protection to front seat people in case of any collision or impact. With this defect in braking system, it is wise to travel in comfortable speeds and Road racing should be avoided. Thanks.... carlover2010.Read More

Hi all, a good review. However, if you want to get better milege out of Eeco, what you have to do is every 700 to 1000 Kms, take out the Air filter inside and blow it out with a vacum cleaner and replace. Usually the suction value is placed behind the grill in front mounted cars, but Eeco is a car w...here the engine is mounted below the driver seat and it tries to suck lot of road dust. So dusting of air filters definitely improves milege and also better petrol to air mixture ratio is maintained by engine. Next, also, change the filter every 2500 Kms (Maruthi recommends 5k to 6K Kms depending on road conditions). This does not cost much but will pay off in long run. This simple exercise will give you about 18 t0 20% more Enjoy Maruthi Eeco. Cheers....Carlover 2010.Read More
