Kartik, Dragon performance kit is an electronic circuit, that resembles in function , to the ECU of the car. It has an adjustable control that would vary the performance of the car when changed. It fits into the common rail pump of the car and it is purely digital. it can produce increase of power ...and torque from minimum 20% to maximum 30%.Read More

I am a sofware engineer, working for a Tier 1 MNC. I was fascinated by the performance of Dragon Tuning box in my diesel cars, which made me write positive feedbacks about the kit. Moreover i am a lover of Fiat's 1.3 Multijet engine and love those cars running on it. Your false wild guess only ...makes me laugh..Read More

The city Fuel efficiency would be any where between 13.5 kmpl to 18kmpl. It depends on how we drive. If we can minimise the braking and use appropriate gearing then one can definitely achieve 16kmpl + easily, with full AC. Vista Quadrajet employs a way superior engine to Swift. Vista has a varia...ble geomentry turbo and a more optimised exhaust system that helps then engine produce more torque right from 1500 rpm. Speeds over 20 kmpl can be done easily in 3rd gear and over 35 kmph should be done in 4th gear. This will give a better fuel efficiency than Swift though Vista is heavier by 70 kgs. I always get a fuel eff of 16kmpl in city conditions though i use Dragon Tuning kit upping the power to 95 bhp and torque to 230 Nm. In highways it zoooms past 140 kmph with ease, still providing FE of 19 to 20 Kmpl.Read More

Well written review. The tuning box generates 92bhp and even slightly more in Vista since it has VGT. I appreciate your dare to touch such a high speed. Vista is more comfortable at 140kmph just like larger sedans. But i didnt dare to push her beyond 160kmph. Have great fun.. but do it safe..

One more thing about Vista, is its brutal power delivery. try to push the car to its limits and you will be amazed at its acceleration. Even at speeds of 140 Kmph you will be quite comfortable with handling. Vista also has Variable geomentry turbo, which is not there in Swift diesel of palio mul...tijet. The gear box is from Fiat C510 which can handle additonal 50% of power. Fit a dragon tuning kit and make your baby a beast (92bhp), rule the road. .Read More

In the power rpm range ( 2000 rpm to 4500 rpm) the torquey Fiat's motor get additional 20% more torque. For instance , in 4th gear, the acceleration from 60Kmph(2000 rpm) to 120 Kmph(4000 rpm) takes just 14 seconds with dragon powered Swift. The stock Swift Vdi takes almost 19seconds to do the same.... To know how fast is 14 seconds, i would tell you some comparison figures, Swift petrol does the same in 32 seconds, latest City Vtec(118bhp) does it in 22.5 seconds and Skoda Laura does it in 16 seconds. Hence while overtaking in a highway, one could just beat any other common cars on road. Hence the dragon powered Swift Diesel's power does not tail off till 4500 rpm. In 5th gear it would translate to 180 kmph. As Mr. Mejoy said, all we need are bettet tires and good road to handle it.Read More

Hi, I am owning a Vista Quadrajet Aura and the average fuel efficiency in city is 17.6 Kmpl with always AC on. But many of the Vista Quadrajet owners have mentioned that they get only 13~14 kms per litre. I believe driving style affects almost 25% of fuel economy. One of my friend who... owns a Esteem Vxi gets almost 20.5 Kmpl in highway drive, whereas even the company guys dont believe that Esteem would return anything more than 15-16 Kmpl. But the petrol engine wont be as efficient as Diesel. Another thing is that the way of driving matters a lot. Before complaining about the car, please re-check your driving style. What is the tyre pressure you maintain. How many of u are going in the car.How long are you using the AC in daily driving. Understand that Vista is a very heavy car, almost 100 Kg heavier than Indica Xeta. It cannot be as fuel efficient as Swift or even Xeta for that case. One more thing is petrol car should not be driven as diesel. You have to upshift the gears as early as possible. Over 40 Kmph - 5th gear 30 Kmph - 4th gear 20 Kmph - 3rd gear 10 kmph - 2nd gear. Tyre pressure - 36 Psi - front 32 psi - rear. Dont over ride the clutch often. Also keep the AC in level 1 as much as possible. In nights try switching off AC. Use good/pure fuel pump. Try these tips for a month and give your feed back again. Read More

Great experience Mr. Mejoy.. Happy driving... Enjoy the kit and the performance. Though i am using the Dragon Kit longer than you , i have not crossed 180Kmph yet. May be dzire being longer than Swift, it would give you more confidence at high speeds. Please be aware that having the tuning kit, its ...not necessary for such high speeds, even at low speeds ( at 70 to 120 Kmph) the in gear acceleration would beat cars like Verna or Elantra or even laura.. I had chance of racing with Skoda Laura.. Believe me, in ECR road between Chennai -- Pondicherry, both of us could not cross 140 Kmph at any point, but Laura could not match the Swift due to the Dragon Tuning Kit. every time we slowed down in the turnings and then accelerate, i could find the Laura getting lost in the rear view mirror..Read More

Dushie, Dragon kit is a digital RISC micro processor kit, that would resemble the ECU functionality of the stock car. It would alter the signals passed by the engine to the common rail system there by giving the car an increase of 20% power and 25% increase in useable torque. For Ex: Vista's po...wer would improve from 75 bhp to 90 bhp and torque increases from 190 Nm to 235 Nm.Read More

I have seen many reviews about TATA cars where in they people just comment about Plastic quality. I donot know like what is the standard they have used to compare the quality nor do they have 3 or 4 cars in their parking lot just to compare them. My personal experience from Indica Dicor (10 mon...ths) and Vista Quadrajet (4 months), none of the problem has rised from both the cars. Not even the car got punctured once. Not even a singe ruppee spent in service centeres for repairs (other than oil , oil filter etc., )Read More

Hi amiesuni, U can very well go for a vista quadrajet. Dont buy Vista since u cannot buy Maruti Swift Ddis( because its expensive). Buy genuinely due to your likingness. No car is problem free. I think its only the owners attitude that matters. My first car was Zen and then i had Swift 1.3 DDis ...for 8 months. Would you believe that i sold away Swift and bought Indica Dicor . But that happened. My Swift gave me couple of serious troubles, especially from suspension side, where in i have to change the front suspensions 2 times in the period of 12,000 Kms (warranty not covered). The acceleration of the car came down from the new condition. Any one who buys Swift, the next immediate thing they do is to take to an accessory shop , change the tires, add new exhausts. This shows that they are car lovers. TATA's customers are more calculative, they think they had spent 5 lacs and its done for the lifetime. Any car requires more care from customers, than the service center. I seriously doubt if all TATA's customers would atleast go through the User manual once before they operate their car.Read More

Congratulations on your new vista. Its true that Vista is a great VFM car. Apart from being only comfortable and spacious, its also the most powerful car in its segment. With stupendous torque in a wide rpm range, 1500-3000 rpm. With its light steering and silky smooth gearshift u can zip zap Zoom i...n city traffic and keep ahead of any cars in highways. I would suggest u to for a Dragon Tuning box, which would provide 92 bhp and 230 Nm of torque, thereby u can beat every other Swift , Verna or City's on highways.. since ur driving would be more on highways.. U can read my review in this forum, about Vista and its after mods.. Enjoy , great driving... Have fun.. do it safe but...Read More

I totally disagree that QUADRAJET is overpriced. If maruti can price a car at 5.5 lac Rs why not tata does price it at 5 lac with a better engine and comfort. Its always wrong to expect that indian companies should provide cars at a cheaper rate. Next, coming to Tuning Boxes, Certainly none of th...e car company advises to fit tuning box. Its not a standard fitment in any of the car but a few, say , like Alfa Romeo. Similarly, many of the todays latest cars comes without any Audio System, halogen or Xeon bulbs, performance tires, seat cover fabrics, loud horns or even mud flaps and floor mats. Does this mean fitting them is not advisable by companies ?? . Similarly is the tuning box / Kn air filters / performance exhausts etc., All cars are manufactured to run in normal petrol/ diesel only. But many of us even today use only 'XtraPremium'/ 'Power' (or) TurboJet/XtraMile petrol/diesels only. We also agree that our car engine performs better and smoother with these better fossil fuels. What does these mean. So, fitting a tuning box wont ruin a car engine. Any car's engine would be atleast capable of handling 50% more torque/power than its original output. For instance the same gear box in Vista / Linea / Palio Multijet supports different torques such as 190 Nm/ 205 Nm/ 180 Nm respectively. So, better stop being sceptical and see how the maximum fun can one get out of his fav car.Read More

Vista, having the same engine as Linea, with Variable Geomentry Turbocharger and exactly same gear ratios, would be benefited the same way. The stock engine outputs 75bhp compared to 90bhp of linea. Hence fitting the tuning box would generate 92 bhp in Vista and 110 bhp in Linea. But the torque figu...res would be almost equal. 23.5 Kgm between 1750 and 3000 rpm. Imagine the insane power we get when overtaking. Adding a tuning box does not necessarily mean that we go to greater top speed. Even at speeds of 60kmph in 5th gear, when u accelerate u feel the adrenaline rush and vista goes past other cars like a rocket. Scorpio's and Innova's feel like they are tortoises when i overtake them on highways.Read More

Adding a Dragon Tuning Kit would give the Linea a sizzling performance edge just like the Skoda Laura. I have fitted the kit to my Vista Quadrajet and you believe me, it does 40-100 Kmph in 4th gear in just 12 seconds which is even faster than 12.45 seconds taken by Skoda Laura, 102 Bhp and 13.9 sec...onds taken by Linea and 14.5 sec taken by Swift DDis. This huge improvement in in-gear acceleration would make the car a 'BOSS' in highways. Even in city driving the instantaneous thump in short 2nd and 3gear is more than enough to close the traffic gaps easily.Read More

The reason for adding the Dragon Tuning kit is , it will unveil the true potential of the Multi jet engine. manufactures usuallly under-tune the vehicle owing to update ideas. Hence the Fiat Linea having a Variable Geomentry Turbo charger is actually easily capable of 110 bhp like that of verna . ...Unlike the Swift and Vista, Linea is not a small car. Its a huge sedan and it can with stand the additional power easily. Moreover if u compare the performance figures, Swift DDis does 0-100 in 13.8 sec and Linea does the same in 15.8 seconds. This is because the power to weight ratio is not as high as Swift. Fitting the tuning box and removing it is a two minute job, hence it would not affect warranty because you can remove it while taking the car to service center. Read More

Hi, it wont be fair enough to compare a petrol Logan to Diesel Quadrajet. On the performance point Logan wont even come near Quadrajet out on highways. Fiat's engine is high on technology and reliabiliity. My Vista Aura Quadrajet is offering 22.5 Kmpl on highways with AC. I have added a Dragon D...igital Tuning box boosting the power to 92 bhp and torque to 23 Kgm@1750-- 3000 rpm.Read More

Nice and detailed review. Linea looks stunning and more expensive than actually she is. Thats the main plus of this car. It could have received the larger 1.6 Multijet engine. Owing to Fuel economy, i think fiat has given the 1.3 Multijet engine. Having the VGT this car could have more power than st...ock form. I suggest you to go in for a Dragon Performance Tuning like the one i used for my vista. It could give you better pulling and outright performance upto 110 Bhp equalling Verna Crdi.Read More
