I purchased my Indica Vista Quadrajet Aura ( Marine Siver) on auspicious day of Akshay Trutiya (27/4/2009). I sold my 11& ½ yrs old Maruti 800 plain model in March & my search started for new car.
After selling old car & as the technicians said I decided again to go for Maruti. & choice of me & my family was Wagor R Vxi model. I have made my decision for it. After visiting Maruti Showroom they showed me Zen estilo, Wagor-R & A Star ( Swift was out of budget ). Though A Star has new engine & sporty look it’s a damn congested car. Only useful for college guys. I doesn’t like look of estilo so I again come to Wagon R meanwhile on net I found that new model of maruti Ritz ( Splash in foreign countries) is going to lauched. & my friend says don’t go for Wagon R ( I do not know the reason) & then I don’t know why but Wagon R goes out of my mind. & Rits out because will take time to come to market. ( Bad luck maruti, their sure shot customer goes away.)
Then I read lot of reviews on mouthshut.com & team bhp.com & carwale.com. The one review I must mention who really helps me in coming to zeroing in is “Selection story Indica Vista” by leadswan.After that looking all the technical specifications.
I decided to go for Indica Vista Quadrajet Aura & bought it. Till today I clocked 700kms & after that for a person who drove maruti 800 base model for 11& ½ yrs this car in nothing but vista airlines. Though till today I have not done air travel, vista gives me feel of air travel.
Space:- Huge space inside & vista beats all other cars in this segment for space. 5 big adults or 6 average adults & 2 kids can comfortably accommodate in the car. Window arrangement is very nice & dose not obstruct the vision of any passengers.
Engine:- Engine quadrajet must be a very nice engine as it is the award winner engine for 2004 or 05. I does not find any difference in petrol or this diesel engine because 2 times I feel that engine is not started & I cranked the already started engine.
Gearbox:- Gears are smooth but not butter smooth. I think it will take time for me to shift to 5 gear( 5th gear handling), as my 1st car was with only 4 gears. But definitely a better gear box though not the best.AC:- The best no words other than this. I parked my car in direct sunlight when I took it to registration & passing. The temp was 42 degree centi. Car was in sun shower for 2 hrs. When after passing we got in, it feels like we were in kitchen & after putting AC on it made the car cool in just 7-8min.
Power windows are good.
Company fitted music system:- So many people said it as very low quality & very average. But I find it definitely above average & can fulfill the needs of common people of listening music, only people with music ear can feel it below average (Peoples with Music ear are usually musicians or singers.)
Looks:- Award winner looks & a very eye catchy. I saw on highway that so many people look at the car with curiosity, people in the old indica with envy & people in other cars with multiple expressions. The large petal shaped lamps add the gush to looks. Curvatures & lines are very attractive. They make the car surely appealing.
Plastic Job & Panel Gaps:- So many people said that plastic job is pathetic ( usually peoples of overdrive or autobild magazine) & much more panel gaps. For me plastics are of good quality ( though not world class) & panels gaps are unnoticeable. Very curious can find mistakes in Porshe panamera, BMW sedans or Jaguar or any other D segment car because perfection can not achieved by human being & that’s why human is doing progress.
Mileage:- My car give me mileage of 17km /lit with ac on in both highway & city conditions mixed. I think It will improve after 2nd or 3rd servicing.
Other goodies are
1) Full fabric seat cover. 2) Rear Wiper
3) Front & Rear Fog lamps 4) Front & Rear Demister
5) Full wheal caps 6) Antena ( Adds touch to look)
7) Body colored bumpers & orvms 8) Internally adjustable mirrors.
9) Large glove box & cup holders & charger.
10) Tail gate & fuel lid opener. 11)Sturdy chassis. ( I think the best in B+ segment)
12) Hydrolic power steering. 13) Engine immobilizer.
14) Drivers adjustable height. 15) Adjustable steering
16) 60:40 split rear seats. 17) Central locking.
18) & so many & so many like that.
I think the car might have ABS & Airbags & Slightly minimum turning radius. Then no other car can compete with Indica Vista at this price tag.There is so much to write about but I do not want to bore you.
(Every thing mentioned in the review is my personal opinion & is confined to me only.)
Verdict:- Ultimately I come to conclusion (for myself) it’s a nothing but Air travel for me that is Vista Airlines for me & my family. Its sheer pleasure to drive vista.
