Bollywood music is always a mirror of the times we live in.It showcases the many influences that shape our lives. It is eclectic in nature but somehow manages to leave an impression that is entirely its own.Bollywood composers are not 100% original, almost no musician is.But most of them can create great music in any cinematic situation. Most people agree these days that the greatest of the so-called 'Bollywood' composers was the late Rahul Debbarman. What made this bespectacled gent a cut above the rest.Well, for one,his versatility. He was at home in semi-classical numbers like "Beeti Na Bitayi Raina..."(Parichay) and "Raina Beet Jaaye..."(Amar Prem) and with the trendy, jazzy score of say 'Jawani Diwani'.See,you judge a person in his entirety. And RDB had,in his short life of 55 years attempted to use every kind of musical genre and with some success. Thus in the sixties he did the avant garde 'Teesri Mazil'.In the seventies he had a dazzling score like 'Mere Jeevan Saathi' which contained the magic of those tempestuous times. In the eighties he came up with a youthful, fresh score in 'Betaab'.And his last movie '1942...'.Well,that was in the nineties.I HAVE TAKEN YOU THROUGH ALL THIS TO ASK ONE SIMPLE QUESTION-IS THERE ANYONE WHO WILL EQUAL RDB?
