Childhood Memories – Mom My Magnet.

Nothing is more beautiful than the sweet childhood memories. Time has passed but those sweet memories touches me everyday.

I was around seven years old, I accompanied my father for the inauguration of steel industry in Hubli. The concerned authorities took us to various production plants; there were some shining steel rods & plates arranged in a corner. I was bit surprised & asked my father about these shining steel plates. He said they are magnets. I asked him again, what are magnets? He was thinking how to explain me the true definition of magnet, he explained me giving a beautiful example, magnet is a piece of metal which pulls or attracts all other metals, its like your mother, see how you are all attracted to her.

I still remember that day when I came home in the evening and started demanding the magnet from my mom. I thought my mom has kept many magnets with her & she is not giving us. She was worried & took me to different shops, but we could not find magnet in any of these shops. When we returned home, I started troubling my mom to get me a magnet. She asked my father about me demanding the magnet, when my father explained the morning incident she understood why I am behind the magnet. My mom finally took a brave step & smashed papa’s transistor into pieces, removed the speakers & gave me the small magnet attached with speaker. Believe me I was so happy & to this day I have safely preserved the magnet. Now I understand that my mother had the magnet of love & sacrifice which allways attracted me.

Another inspiring incident I remember is, in the evening I was coming to home from my tuitions, I crossed the road, near footpath I met with an accident. I was unconscious, when I opened my eyes; I am seeing my mom, doctor, police inspector & a scooter mechanic. My mom never registered the case & told the inspector to set him free. This lesson of forgiveness I have learned from my mom.

God has given me incredible blessings in the form of wonderful childhood memories which makes me laugh & learn in life. I am mama’s boy. I love my mom more than anyone in this world. She is my magnet, my biggest strength, my life & the God's best gift to me. There are many such beautiful memories which touch me every moment of my life. Thanks caretaker for bring back my childhood memories.
