This product Looks very good and is useful in terms of intensity and saving of Electricity, but I faced a very unique situation after the completion of warranty period of 1Year. I bought one CFL type, Orpat make 23Watt – 3U Light bulb in Oct 2005 for our Drawing Hall. It performed very well for through out the warranty period and also upto 8 – 10 month thereafter.
Then we don’t know when this happened As it was not observed daily, 1 day I found it hanging (bend towards the wall) but still glowing. I immediately put it off and pulled it out of the holder and we saw that the porcelain or ceramic material has burnt and broken down from the edges. Then I wrote e-mail to the company about the condition of the light bulb and requested them to depute their representative to see the defect so that it can be rectified and quality of the material be improved to withstand high temperatures. Thereafter faxed the copy of the same, but till date no response has been received. I am aggrieved by this attitude of the company. Hence I suggest all those planning to buy this product, please invest your money cautiously.
One more caution, this company claims to be One of India’s Premier business house but press the contact us option and you will land at U. A. E. Biggest surprise is that the bulb is still glowing as the PCB and wiring visible inside the casing are intact.
