I do not agree, I have completed 1600km, i am 5ft 5in tall, have found the
seating posture one of the best. Overall this bike is excellent. The design is superb, a piece of art. I enjoy riding FZ-16 100%, simply tht best bike.

This is my 2nd week in this bike, and I have covered 500km at a max speed of 50km (still in run-in), at this stage I am a happy man, I have given the bike 9/10 marks. Perfect handling and control, smooth engines, smooth ride, i dont care about the average 40km/ltr mileage it gives, i blv it will imp...rove after 1,2,3,4,5,6 svc. Perfect for long intercity trips, the bike moves like as if we are on a flight. I am only worried that now Yamaha might bringout 180-250cc version of this bike, with a back disc break and digi-analogue dash, for a higher price - then I may have to sell my property and will have to go for that one too.

I have covered 500+ km within last week, this bike is the best thing happened in my motor cycling life, smooth and stable like it is on four weels, sporty, sexy and feels good. I did not felt any pain in my wrist even after 100km at a strech (I am 42 yrs) and also its a very good intercity (say 100-...500km) tourer, now i am planning a trip to Ooty (abt 500km)
Those who complain on back pain gets back pain on any bike too, for that matter when you watch tv for sitting in a sofa for more than an hour anyone can get back pain.
I have found this is a perfect sports tourer for this price. Hats of to
Yamaha and its designers. The foot pegs should have been little wider otherwise I have given the bike 9/10 marks

This one deserve an answer
'What yamaha fz16 gives u is a great single-person ride at city conditons within speeds of 0-90 and a great design. Come on! What about the rest?'
Thats what exactly FZ is meant for.
'What about the rest?'
Is there any 'perfect' sports bike out there wi...thout battery problems, after sales, cheap spare parts ??
This is a typical indian style, we want everything cheap, cheap fun, cheap thrill,
and if we get it 'free' and thats much better thats why we get only this much ---- a 150cc super sports bike.Read More

Mr. 'poor me', u dont deserve a sports bike
u can go for an autorickshaw, so u can carry yr paap, mom and sisters and kids, a used one costs around 75k.

Every serious bikers knows that the FZ16
is blt around a ...theme, which u pls find out yrself.
'Last n not least-Great power' - go for
an R1, for great power, u need to pay
for that kind of power.

Great expectations ... 50+ mileage, 150+ top speed, fat tyres, best handling, best looks, wide seats so that boys can carry their mothers and sisters and girlfriends and some cargo, a super machines gives no problem, that too a YAMAHA, under Rs.50,000.- Thats a good idea, but never going work. if YA...MAHA produces such a bike then others will have to close the shop (Bajaj, TVS,HH,HMSI).
FZ16 is blt on a certain theme, and we get only that much for 75,000.-. FZ16 is nothing but a fun 'feell good' bike, its not a
platina or a CD100.

The number plate on the forhead not bad at all, after seeing so many now its very comfortable to look at it, in fact w/out thta number plate on on the forehead, the FZ doesnt look like an FZ, and if u bend both sides of the number plate then it looks nice.

May be FZ & R15 is a toy bike for Yamaha (when compared to their international models), may be they designed it half minded for toyboys of India, those consider Rx100 as their cult 'superbike' (a commuter bike designed in the 70's), if we Indian toyboys think Rx100 as 'superbike' then what can we ex...pect otherthan FZ & R15 ??, these are simply super toys for Indian boys (mee too included). For this price, for an average 60kg middleclass Indian boy, no doubt, these 3 are superbikesRead More

FZ is designed for city, it is geared that way, expect only 109kmph. If crack in front fork, thats too bad for a Japanese Bike, agree with what u said, the seat assembly not just in FZ but R15 is 'loose', seat is not 'solidly fit' - try to move the seat it moves, when it comes to such 'small things'... i am confused on YAMAHA, in fit and finish honda always scores - example Stunner, in charecter & performance YAMAHA scoresRead More

Actually Yamaha should have made the electricals more stronger, many occassions I think that other than their high end motor bikes (R1's and the likes), the 'fit and finish' is nt upto the mark on a Yamaha, they concentrate just on the performance and a 'different feel' not on the 'fit & finish', Ya...maha simply do not want to be a Honda, they want to be different and arrogant, by not being sooo nice, so do not expect a piece of cake from Yamaha, they surprise you on the performance front, but let you down in 'fit and finish' (by Japanese standards, or by their own high end models).
This is not the case with a Honda or Suzuki, they are a piece of chocolate, most of the time boringly perfect, no engine noice, no loose screws, no starting probelms ???
Actually FZ16 is a good bike for this price 76k. For this price its okey ...Read More

To balappahb:
BMW is filled with electronics, mercedes
is filled with electronics, and yet a Toyota/Honda/Nissan outsells a BMW or Merc at any given time, that too in the US.
You are wrong by saying 'Thats why in auto-world the mechanical Germany always wins over electronic Japan.' ... wthr el...ectronics or mechanical, the Japanese have an edge over Germans.
Thats why more Japanese stuff is sold in Germany & USA than German stuff in Japan or US.
A kick start is not really required in a real sports bike, those who cant take the trouble of occassional starting problems should not go for FZ16 or R1. Naked street bikes are meant for Males, not for females or children.

To death racer :
All these days i thought you are a 'know all' person.
Now you come up with silly ideas like 'its plain foolishness by Yamaha to remove the kickstart altogether!' - i hope you wont suggest the same to R1's, V-maxes, Firebldes and Ninjas to have kick starter, will not be surprised... if you say 'its plain foolishness by Rolls Royce not having a kick starter' (for that matter even mercedes and maruti alto too should have a kick starting - what should we do if their battery / alternator gone wrong ? push till the next workshop ??)
This is as simple problem as a dfective battery or a defective alternator not charging the battery, this problem can even happen to a RR, even a merc, or even a fireblade. Why to blame a yamaha for reliability ?? as for reliability we need to wait for few years, and see how many times you take the bike to the service center, only that time we can tell how reliable is the bike or not.
For this price this is good naked sports bike, it may be the best in fit and finish like a typical honda, however FZ16 has its own charecter to it, defenitly a male. Such small problems makes it real bike, what biking without some vibrations and some occasional problems ??? Honda's are boringly perfect.
